What books does your 2yo love?

I think we need to update our 2yo DD's bookshelf but am struggling with what to buy. I don't want long stories as she picks one and wants it 4/5 times on the trot. On the other hand I don't want just picture books either. Does anyone have any recommendations?

It's just for daytime books, not bedtime stories as she has the same three bedtime stories every single night...

Thanks!

Tales from Acorn Wood very popular with our DS. Especially Fox's Socks and Postman Bear.

He also loves The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a book called Boats are Busy and completely unconnected he loves the "busy" collection. So busy builders, busy vets, busy airport etc.

Brilliant, thanks all!! She's just turned 2, I suppose that does make a difference. I can get shopping now!

You choose.
www.amazon.co.uk/You-Choose-Pippa-Goodhart/dp/0141379316/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ref=plSrch&keywords=you%20choose%20book&dpPl=1&dpID=61gS5a1xvVL&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&ie=UTF8&qid=1536412993&sr=8-1&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
It’s suxh a lovely book essentially giving children different scenarios and asking them to choose - which house they’d live in, what they’d eat etc.
My 2.5 yo loves it. He reads it every night and gets different things out of it each time. It’s done wonders for his vocabulary as at first he pointed and we talked about things and now he names them himself. His current favourite is to go to his ‘block of flats’ in a ‘rickshaw’
Fab book.

@Bunnyandbee Have you got the sequels to How to Hide a Lion? My favourite is How to Hide a Lion From Grandma...it makes me chuckle

Mine likes lots of those mentioned, especially the Alfie stories. She also loves Cake, Supertato and Dogger ( Dogger is a bit longer but she absolutely loves it).

My 22m dd likes 'monkey and me', 'Solomon crocodile' and 'bunny and bee' books at the moment. She also (rather surprisingly due to its length) will listen to 'how to hide a lion' Depends what end of 2 she's at I guess. I also seem to remember reading 'we're going on a picnic' and 'rosies hat' when my older was a similar age.

Dear Zoo
Pip & Posy series
Tales from Acorn Wood (Fox's Socks etc) series
Bedtime Bear
Monkey Puzzle
(We like Axel Scheffler!!)
The Baby Catalogue
You Choose
(Those two are looking at/talking about books rather than reading, but brilliant)
Topsy & Tim
Alfie series
Lucy & Tom series
Mog series
(Those 4 are longer story collections, so a bit more grown up)
