@Joewasmyfave Showtimes and parades are on the app and on the website, and it tells you which ones are ticketed events.

You don’t need to book most of them but people plan which showtimes they’ll attend months in advance by inserting them into their plans.

If you want a good view it’s worth getting there at the very minimum half an hour before.

WDW is very much a holiday that needs a lot of research and planning else you are going to miss out on a heck of a lot, and it’s an expensive trip to miss anything out of.

TouringPlans is an excellent resource, as is MouseSavers.

The shows aren't in the app so how do people book them?

I'm going in 2 weeks for first time feel completely under prepared.
Booked park days and some character dining. In terms of shows do you find out more on the day which shows are on and do you need to book? Any advice really appreciated ☺️

People plan shows (and pretty much everything) months in advance. WDW isn’t a “turn up on the day and find out more” kind of place.

Absolutely everything is planned and advertised months in advance, and most of it is booked months in advance too, so the information is out there.

It isn’t a wing it kind of holiday 😅

What is your opinion on the Splash Mountain re theming and the fact that they are getting rid of the name “Splash Mountain”?

I am gutted. I understand the controversy behind the film but I am truly gutted. Just relieved to be riding it later this year one last time before closure.

I agree with you; am gutted!

@DisneyDisneyDisney are the lights etc at Celebration the same as Jeater Bend, if so that's on our list already! We are doing the Christmas party one night and will definitely watch the Christmas parade a different day to Christmas Day. So looking forward to going. We are staying onsite at Caribbean Beach and planning on taking a mini Christmas tree and door/window decorations. Will be the first Christmas just me and dc as usually spend it with my parents and I can't wait Grin

How exciting! Yes, drive around Celebration and look at all the lights. Have dinner in the Town Tavern and see the snow! We love Celebration!

I still cannot fathom how you do it for £6000. We are a family of 5 so coats a bit more than you, and both work in education so can only go during school holidays. I struggled to find anything under £8000 for this year, and that's before food, car hire etc.

I have just had a quick search and can get flights during Christmas school holidays for under £2500 for all 4 of us.

@Stichintimesavesstapling Country Bear Jamboree is the strangest thing ever but they could ever get rid of it, there would be outrage!

Exactly how disturbing do you find the country bear jamboree out of 10 (I went all the way up to 11)?

Gosh - not seen that for years. What I can’t watch is the Enchanted Tiki Room as that gives me nightmares!

We are going for Christmas and New Year this year. It's our first time going over the Christmas period. How hard is it to get dining reservations at 60 days out? We are staying onsite, can be flexible with when we visit the restaurants but really really want Liberty Tree Tavern Christmas Day and Rose and Crown New Years Eve!!

I think that Christmas is the best time to go! You should be fine with those restaurants but book as soon as you can (within the 60 days). Both those restaurants are great. Tip for Magic Kingdom- see the parade prior to Christmas Day (same parade) and whilst the parade is on during Christmas Day, go on the rides. New Year’s Eve at Epcot is incredible, especially the Silent Disco (last year was in England pavilion) and the candlelight procession. If you get a chance, go to the town of Celebration for nightly snowfall, amazing lights and incredible restaurants and atmosphere!

Not a question but a tip

I see you've never gone in May

May is the best time to travel - give it a go and you won't regret it Halo

Once we don’t have to go only during school holidays, we will certainly go in May.

We always book flights to Orlando via somewhere in America to keep the costs down. We started our visits in Disney friendly hotels which still had Disney themes but much cheaper. They usually provide breakfast too. We take lunch in and eat dinner outside the parks. We have snacks in the park at Joffeys coffee and donut place. If you haven’t been before you can book restaurants on site and there is a wide variety but they get booked up quickly. For tickets, the current offer is buy 14 days for the price of 7 which is really great value.

I take it you are annual pass holders with so many trips a year? 😊 I’m so jealous! Would love to get to Florida more frequently.

Planning a trip with our baby September 2023 (Baby due this November) any tips for navigating the parks with a baby?

Favourite ride is Test Track and favourite park is EPCOT because of the history attached to it and Walt Disney.

Pretty much back to normal from pre-Covid although some people still wear masks and you still have to book your days at the parks. A few shows are still not open. There’s a lot of refurbishment happening at Epcot but it doesn’t take away the enjoyment.

Do you go on other holidays or solely Disney?

What's your favourite ride?

How does the experience now compare to how things were pre covid?
