here.

Most popular at the moment seem to be "I'll tell you what's wrong with feminism" and "If you want to be treated like a lady you'd better start acting like one".

Now I'm pretty sure I've got 'Patriarchy hurts men too' and 'Women can't be objective about gender issues'. Assuming we don't have to get the exact words just the sentiment.

Oh excellent Proles. I am always particularly confused by the "you're making all women sound like/act like victims" one - when people say that my face actually does this: Confused

Women are victims of things - that's what we're (partly) fussing about! But that's not ALL we are obviously. It's just such a daft and weird thing to say. Like, "honestly, The Press, you're making victims of paedophiles sound like victims!". Well, yes. But that's hardly either blaming them, or making them look bad, is it?

My personal favourite, missing from both is "Feminism has ruined the lives of millions of men!"

I've seen 13/24 on the second one on MN.

Oh, good answer to that always-annoying comment, Elephants.

I think the 'Oh, if only you were a bit less [insert central tenet of feminism here], you feminists would get loads done' is my bugbear.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 17/08/2011 18:42

I'm sure I've seen all but 2 on the second one. Maybe 3.

Ooooh, wasn't it "drippy" feminists getting targeted last week?

Report
evenlessnarkypuffin · 17/08/2011 18:45

15/25 on MN. People in real life don't tend to say things like that to me and live

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 17/08/2011 18:45

Drippy ones, really? I thought I'd seen every variation of "I lurrrve feminism but you've made it all NASTY by doing XYZ" but that's a new one on me.

Haha! It was on the first thread about men not taking no for an answer unless you mention a boyfriend/husband.

"I simply don't see the point of feminism now that women have total equality."
