Hi everyone. I'm here and really hope-ing someone can help. I'm 31 and have not had a period since August. I'm usually 28 days. I've never missed a period or been more than 2 days late. Iv pg tested all negative. I've had bloods for pg text and hormones, All OK. I'm going out of my mind with worrying, thinking it could be some type of cancer or brain tumor. My other symptoms are... Pelvic, abdominal and lower back pain. Bloating. Tender breast and headaches, I feel alot more tired and out of breath easy. Please any information or similar experience from anyone will really help.

Thanks
X

Those symptoms need to be checked out. You need an ultrasound scan at least to find out what is going on. Find a new doctor!

Try & see another Doctor.

It sounds very much like an ovarian problem, but of course I am not a doctor. That's why you need to find a new one, asap.

I'm going to call and make another appointment tomorrow. Its so frustrating I feel like there not listening. Ive been to A&E who sent me to emergency gp who sent me to my gp. I was even crying when I went to see the doctor, from pain and frustration. She didn't seem bothered.

I would go back to A&E, tell them just how much pain you are in and demand that they do a scan, or at least, some sort of test. It sounds like you are just being fobbed off by a load of crap doctors. The same thing happened to my mother and that did not turn out well.

WipsGlitter · 04/12/2018 18:23

Do not go to A&E.

Go back to your GP and demand a referral to a gynaecologist.

Report
Jaguar2017 · 04/12/2018 18:31

But if your GP is as bad as you say, then do go back to A&E. At least there you will probably see a different doctor.

I'm so sorry. What happened to your mother.. If you don't mind me asking.

Apparently the A&E department can't refer me for a scan or to the gyno unit That's what they told me yesterday. I'm going to to my gp again tomorrow and if nothing gets don't it looks like back to A&E... Im just really worn out and stressed. Ive been having alot of time off work that I can't afford with all this messing about and pain.. Im a single mom to a 8 year old and with Christmas on the way, I just feel so down and alone.

She had ovarian cancer although see was much older than you. She was bounced from one crap doctor to another until she found a decent one who listened to her concerns and sent her for a scan. But, by that time the cancer had started to spread. I doubt you have anything as serious, but the quicker you get checked out by a doctor who knows what they are doing, the better. Good luck.

WipsGlitter · 04/12/2018 20:08

As they've said, A&E can't refer you. It's neither an accident or an emergency or immediately life threatening. This is why they're under so much pressure.

See another GP.
Change surgery.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 04/12/2018 20:20

A&E won't refer you, no matter how many times you turn up there.

You need a GP referral, and I think if you list your symptoms and ask about the possibility of ovarian cancer (which it might well not be, but which needs to be excluded) you should be referred under the 2 week rule.

Can you see a different doctor at your practice?

No i do know that. I wouldn't have gone but 111 told me to go within the hour. Not sure why. Maybe cos my symptoms are similar to an atopic pregnancy.

Yes I can try to see a different doctor. My usual doctor who is really good hasn't been there on the days I've tried to get in. I've only actually seen a doctor once. It's actually been phone appointments. Trying to get in to see an actual doctor is a nightmare. They never have any appointments. You can't book an advance appointment. You have to ring in on the day and even at 8:30am there's no appointments left! It's an absolute joke. I think I need to change gp

Back pain, feeling tired all the time and she could feel a lump in her stomach. First doctor told her it was a build-up of fat and not to worry! Idiot.

Report
Jaguar2017 · 04/12/2018 23:01

It turned out to be a growth, not a build-up of fat. And he was a private doctor!

Jaguar2017 · 04/12/2018 23:10

Your only 31. I would not worry too much if I was you. I am sure it's nothing too serious. 99% of the time things like this turn out to be nothing that cannot be easily sorted. I didn't mean to make you worried, but make sure you get it checked, just to be on the safe side.

Same with my mum.
Tired and very bloated. Dr told her she had a hernia, go home and loose weight.
My dad wasn’t happy. Went to see a different dr. was sent straight to hospital.
Diagnosed with ovarian cancer aged 48.
Do not take the word of drs. If you’re not happy see someone else.
Years later my dad was placed on the pathway as he had lung and brain cancer.
Did autopsy after he died, he had no cancer.
I have very little trust in drs.

Jesus Christ, do you not think A&E have enough to deal with without people ‘faking it to make it’

I’m sorry you’re in pain and obviously worried OP but it really isn’t an emergency, you do need to see your GP for a referral to a gynaecologist for investigation though, perhaps under the two week wait. I know in this area you would probably be scanned pretty quickly with the symptoms you have described (not that cancer is the most likely diagnosis, just an important one to rule out)

Report
Hogtini · 04/12/2018 23:22

Can't believe people are saying fake it to get to A&E. No wonder there's an 8 hour wait at my local hospital Shock. Please be insistent at the Dr's tomorrow, take a family member /friend, write everything down, ask for a plan of action, referral. I had a period that was late by only 2 weeks and my GP sent me for a scan so you def need a better GP.

Do you have a well woman clinic or sexual health clinic near you? They're normally staffed by specialist nurses and gynaecologists - sometimes they have drop in clinics too.

I have to go to my local one for anything to do with my coil and honestly, the staff are brilliant and 100% up on 'women's stuff'.
