Arse. spent birthday book token on stig thingys new one.

Now, how to justify this one? give up wine for a couple of days? sell the children my soul?

MissWooWoo Thu 01-Oct-09 17:28:53

oooh! it's £8.99 on amazon, that's less than I thought - anyone found it for cheaper elsewhere?

belgo Thu 01-Oct-09 17:32:55

You're all getting excited and I have no idea who she is. What sort of books does she write and which book do you recommend I read first?

MissWooWoo Thu 01-Oct-09 17:40:14

She wrote The Time Traveller's Wife AMAZING! Essentially this was a love story (to me at least smile ). No idea what the "theme" is of this book, but the reviews are looking good.

belgo Thu 01-Oct-09 17:41:42

ok thanks!

TheFoosa Thu 01-Oct-09 17:51:43

it's not out in pb until Oct 2010

MissWooWoo Thu 01-Oct-09 18:01:49

shock ffs! Oct 2010 ... it's going on my christmas list then.

cheapskatemum Thu 01-Oct-09 22:18:21

Do you think it will live up to "TTW"?

EccentricaGallumbits Thu 01-Oct-09 22:46:12

I think it's about a pair of twins left a house next to a cemetary by an aged aunt. and the relationships with the people who live in the house and the graveyard.

or i may have dreamt that.

if audrey hasn't used it i'll do that one.

Caz10 Thu 01-Oct-09 22:48:19

That sounds intruiging EG...I'd like it for hols next week, but a bloody great paperback would surely tip my Ryanair baggage allowance overboard?!

MissWooWoo Thu 01-Oct-09 23:41:51

cheapskatemum god I hope so. I am expecting it to be different though.

I had a peep at the blurb in smiths today and was very tempted to buy it. Def one for the Christmas list.

<<Smug emoticon>> It's my birthday today and, amongst the traditional pile of birthday books I get from DH, I found the very book. grin

cremolafoam Fri 02-Oct-09 14:16:22

Yay- I SO hope it is a good read

MissWooWoo Fri 02-Oct-09 15:50:25

now then slug no spoilers! envy smile

EccentricaGallumbits Sat 03-Oct-09 11:44:17

Have cracked and bought it. The lady in the bokshop said it was very good - she read a proof copy envy I wish I worked in a bookshop.

TheFoosa Sat 03-Oct-09 18:25:18

i have also cracked and bought it - half price in WHS

will have to eat beans on toast all next week

SixtyFootDoll Sat 03-Oct-09 18:26:56

will get it for my birthday!!
Oooooohhhhh am sooooo excited!!

MissWooWoo Sun 04-Oct-09 11:20:09

right! that's it. WHS here I come grin

EccentricaGallumbits Tue 06-Oct-09 17:32:46

i am very much enjoying it. about half way through.
different from time traveller but still good.

RoseBlossoms Tue 06-Oct-09 18:23:26

right so i was so maddened and cross with lastest dan brown can i buy this one with confidence that it wont be so shite that i can finish it?

CDMforever Tue 06-Oct-09 20:04:05

I have purchased this off amazon for my DH to give me for xmas (I know, he's crap) but hope i'll not be tempted to read it before then! RoseBlossoms, even a really really really bad book by Audrey Neiffeneger would be better than a Dan Brown.... Dan Brown = Elizabeth Duke at Argos, Audrey Neiffeneger = Tiffany's.
