Anybody half way through a HUGE weight loss got any motivation tips for me please or is there anybody who wants to buddy up?

By methods of dedication, deprivation and determination I am down to 13st 10lbs and a size 14 from 18st 10lbs since last January (woohoo)
However, I have got complacent and lazy and have just eaten a full easter egg.

At 5ft7in I could do with losing another 3 stone but will be happy to be 11st5lb (top end of ideal weight on bmi)so about 2st 5lbs.

I have lost all motivation though atm and need a kick up the backside please.

Would love a buddy with a similar amount to lose.

Yes please. I can not get motivated at all and really need to shift at least 3 stone of lard. I am 5 ft 8 and would also like to aim for 11st 5lb roughly. Would just be ecstatic to get under 12 stone. How have you managed to lose it so far? I will follow your guidelines you have obviously done really well...you should be very proud and please don't slip back to your old ways...I have far too often undone all my good work and put back on all the lard and more besides...Would really love to become buddy if you are not inundated with replies.

ill join you!

i lost 30kg on lighterlife in 2006 before an operation.

since then i know i have put most of it back on. stupidly.

i was going to start on LL again today, but when faced with one of the packs i wanted to throw up. not sure if not eating at all for the next few days is worth it.

im going to do WW and start exercising again. (i have a dodgy pelvis, so got to take things slow to start).

waiting for new scales to arrive, then i will know exactly how much damage i have done!

i want to loose around 5 stone i think.

happy to pair up with both of you!

xxx

Hello keevamum and justhavingamoan!

Looks like we have the makings of our own little club!

Calorie control and exercise for me and am considering joining the gym now I have lost a bit...
Also have not had a drop of alcohol since December 2007 [proud emoticon] which considering my almost alcoholic status (bottle a night, binge at the weekends) I am chuffed with.

My email addy is [email protected] if either of you want to email me/swap pics etc.

Need to do something drastic about my stomach though-it really is strange looking-like a half cooked ommlette...

Good luck ladies

well I need to lose more than 3stone and if no one ends up on a thread I started I may just join you... really, really need to do something, but particularly before MAY!!

keevamum · 26/03/2008 20:37

Yes lets go for it. What's happening in May, Martha?

QueenBhannae · 26/03/2008 22:10

Would blummin love it if I could lose all my weight left by the end of May as its my Birthday on the 26th
I am not even giving a thought to getting my dd christened until I look less blobby like on pics lol
Congrats on your baby btw. Little Queenie is 7mths already!

I figure that we could lose between 10 and 30 pounds each in the next 9/10 weeks?

I am going to aim for 20 lbs/2 lbs a week I think. Am a middle of the road kinda girl lol.

Keevamum - Ds2 is getting Christened and ANY loss at the moment would make me feel a damn sight better. Had lost well before getting pregnant but must have gone a bit OTT with the cravings in pregnancy

Queenbhannae - If you can do it, so should I! .. stats for me:
height: 5ft 8
start weight: 18st
goal weight: Long term, the top end of what is allowed for my height (but forgotton, somewhere in the 11st I think) but for now to do the best I can through eating sensibly and some exercise!

Bit embarrassed to put stats on internet until I've lost just a bit just in case anyone I know reads this. I know I shouldn't be like this but can't help it. My weight is somewhere between the pair of you though and I will aim for a 21b a week weight loss too. Shall we have a weekly weigh in? I know I will have to start recording my weight if I want to lose it....
Also shall we post on here when we need a boost/reminder to stick to the diet? At the mo I really need to get rid of my bad habits....I often have 2 breakfasts!! Love sweet things and eat too many of them as well! What should we do with kids easter eggs they are taunting me?
Hope you are both having a good diet day.

Dont be embarrassed keevamum (you could always namechange for your post on here?)

Weekly weigh in sounds great. Lets make it every Thursday shall we? No point waiting for Monday

I notice you did lighterlife JHAM. Looks like a fabulous plan, will you be going back on that?

I have no advice re easter eggs keevamum as I ate my dd2's one the other night.
I have put the remaining ones in the kids rooms though instead of on the fireplace looking at me all night lol.
Tis working so far as a bit of choccy is not worth the time spent getting them back to sleep when I will have woke them up rustling in cadburys wrappers at midnight.

Just had some soup for lunch and am feeling virtuous atm pmsl.

i read 2lbs as 21lbs a week initially!! excuse the bad grammar etc, typing one handed with baby in other.. i should be cleaning or something whilst ds1 out dancing, but no, doing sedentary reading mails etc instead!

Thurs sounds good.. no answers for the easter eggs, i have hidden ds1s in the cupboard and going for drink of water before i start thinking about them... not sure how long that works!

Report
keevamum · 27/03/2008 17:07

Thanks I shall remove the easter eggs from the top of our fireplace aswell and put in the kids room...Haven't been too bad today but haven't been virtuous either. I fear this could take me a long time!!!

i was going to go back on LL, but tried yesterday and vomitted the pack up. i done 100days on it last time.

i going to do WW and poss start running again if my pelvis will hold up!

i am 5ft 10
around 17-18 stone (im guessing, scales are broken!)
size 18

aiming to loose enough to be a 14/16 by next march when we go away on a big holiday xx

lets all keep going! nice and steady! 2lb a week sounds fab to me!

QueenBhannae · 28/03/2008 16:45

Eek about the vomiting-not good if you cannot stomach them anymore.
You will do great on ww though Im sure

I bought some all singing all dancing body fat /water level thingymebob scales and have loved seeing the body fat go down esp when the scales dont move. They were about £7 from home bargains if you are looking for some JHAM. Oh and they measure to 1/8 th of a pound pmsl.

I go away week after next so no doubt I will have a blip then but am determined to lose the 10lbs by this time in April.
Its my youngest brothers 18th on the 11th April and we are going to a steakhouse (mmm) so will try to be extra good until then so I can gorge on a mixed grill!

We can do it girls!

Well done Martha
I have just eaten 4 ricecakes in a row after my dinner and I dont even like them very much. I could have had something fab for the calories instead grr.

LOL, I find myself irritated when I do that but trouble is whatever I could have in fab terms to eat instead I could NEVER have just one of, so almost better to stick with the alternative no matter how dull.. how awful does that sound?

I've had a bad couple of days food wise- eaten far too many cornflake cakes....Now back on it with a vengeance. I think I may have to post every day as I need the thought of having to 'confess' my sins or congratulate myself when things have been good. Does that make sense?

Report
QueenBhannae · 29/03/2008 23:25

cornflake cakes are sooo moreish though as I found out to my peril when I made my own lol.
I am certainly not leading by example as I had a cream filled muffin at lunch and chippy chips for tea! eek! Will do better tomorrow...
Compensated a little by walking with buggy for 3 hours though

Well done 3 hours is fantastic. I feel viruous when I've walked for an hour! Had a much needed better day yesterday no more cornflake cakes for me!!! I ate them all anyway! Going to try hardest again today. Let me know how you all get on too.

Haha.. same going on here (was going on!) Fell for for an offer in a shop that was closing to fill up a small bag of pick and mix (for my son) for a set price, idea being they would last a good while.. yeah right!

Am going to post each day if possible with the same intentions as keevamum! (makes sense to me.. and time is ticking away before I want to be smaller in May.. so back to the cleaning, sigh!)

How's QueenB doing? and keevamum

Hanging on by a thread to this diet! Thanks for asking Martha
Have made a curry from scratch just now and am drooling but it woould be all my calories left for the day in half a blardy naan
Will stick to the veg and rice with some meat and no sauce or naan maybe...

Glad to see the rest of you are going well
Mango is so lush! I really wanted fruit when I was pg last time but as I was gd I wasnt allowed as it ruined my blood sugars. I resorted to eating bath sponges and car sponges instead and lost loads in that pg!!!
May have to dig out a scourer for me tea!!
Weigh in on Thursday ladies. Its not looking great here lol.

Glad you are both doing ok- I think I must be the only woman in the world who actually loses weight when pregnant and then puts it on after!! I typically only put on 1-1 and a half stones in both pregnancies and then lose about 2 stone in the first couple of weeks following birth and then the appetite returns!! I am really praying April will bring a good weight loss at least 8-10lbs....fingers crossed and for you as well.
