I've just weighed myself, after having eaten 2 weetabix and a twirl for breakfast. I know I shouldn't be eating chocolate for breakfast, but even so I am shocked by how much I weigh.

I've halfheartedly tried to lose weight before but I have never been this big.

Is there anyone who is similarly sized and would like to join me?

I'm going to try to eat sensibly and have smaller portions. Not sure what to do about exercise though. I have no time at the moment esp not in the next two weeks.

I'll join you.

I'm 5 ft 6 and 15.7 stone. Wearing 16/18 size clothes. I'm happy with every aspect of my life, am confident, have huge staying power with my job etc - except I cannot control my weight. It's my waking thought and the last thought before I go up bed.

I've been on every weight loss board here I think. I've tried WW, SW, 5:2 and low carb. I can't stick at anything. I did C25k for a while and got to week 7. I felt fitter and a bit more toned, but then I had an operation and stoppedHmm.

I'm pretty desperate. I've seen friends of mine loose 5 stone plus and put it all back on. I don't know which way to turn really.

I think I may go old school and try no snacking between meals and a smaller plate, lots of water. See what happens....

Smile

That's great harry.

I've tried SW before and have list a few stone but when I stop the plan, I pile it all back on again. Plus it's always been a race with others to see who can lose the most each week which isn't what I want.

I need to learn to be happy making the right choices and not snacking because I'm bored. The clothes I am wearing are 18/20/22.

Breakfast was a bit of a disaster this morning. Hope to reel it back in now with beans on wholemeal toast for lunch and a pasta salad for dinner.

My aim is to check in on here a few times a week and submit my losses. Then I 'll be able to see my weight loss and hopefully that will spur me on. I would love to 10lbs before school starts in September.

I am 16st 3 and 5 feet 8 so prob similar, I was nearly 19 stones but have lost 2 1/2 doing WW. My BMI is 34 ish so still away to go. Do you have a goal that you are working towards as that kind of helps

That's great bettyboo and vickyb. I don't want a race either - just a change that's going to stick and not yo-yo. If I lost a pound or half a pound a week I'd have changed my whole body within a year!

I was hoping not to weigh in too often as I can get obsessed. I may weigh in every 2 weeks if that's ok Grin

5' 5" and 13st 2lbs - the heaviest I've been. I've started the 5:2 today as weight yoyos up and down on WW. Feeling really hungry Hmm but I'm told you get used to it fairly quickly

Woah....hold on.....no time for exercise?? Really?

You only need 30 mins a day. It's worth it, it really is. You'll feel better.fitter and stronger and it raises your metabolism. Come on.... We can all make the time. It's an episode of eastenders....

Hi betty

Just wanted to say good luck. I was 15 11 at 5ft4 last March (2014). I joined ww, but it wasn't so much that but tracking my food and trying to be a bit more active. Using mfp sounds like a fab idea. It's so easy when you can just bung it all on an app. I have lost 4 stone. Still have a couple to go, but it's amazing how I feel and look.

Good luck with your weight loss. You can do it (totally patronizing, but hope you takenut in the spirit it is meant Smile)

anyonefortennis I'm snowed under for two weeks. After that I will be able to do an hour a day. For the time being, unless I get up at 6am, I will not be able to fit it in. No time to watch tv either for the next fortnight.

I do get up at 6 am before the rest of the brood - to do a 45 minute brisk walk (jog on the downhill bits) I do not have time in the evenings. Exercise hepls to improve muscle tone and body shape, I have lost 10 cm off each thigh and 12 cm off my waist - try and fit some exercise in as it will really help

Honestly, you can do 4 minutes!

You can download a free app for the timings. You do 20 seconds of anything as fast and as hard as you can, then 10 seconds rest. Do this for 4 minutes and you are sorted. It's really good.

Once you star to feel good from exercise, I find it's addictive...

Do it in the morning to set you up for the day if you shower then (just take a quicker shower).

I struggle to motivate myself with excercise but also find that once i do it i really enjoy it and want to do it more. I actually have plenty of free time for it as my exh has the kids 4 nights a week and when they are here they dont get up til around 8 anyway. Its just getting into the habit.

I am 5'3'' and weight today 14.7
I am hoping to change my habits with www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/2410345-The-No-S-Diet-its-not-exactly-a-diet?

I can't deny myself fruit and veg so low carbing isn't working for me.
I need to change my bad habits!
I think steady loss of 1-2 pounds a week is better for us who can't control ourselves and lost ability to eat normal meals (I also often used to have biscuits and a bar of chocolate for breakfast).

I think too much about food anyway Sad

I would love to join you.
I'm 5'6" and 16.5 stones Shock
I'm around a size 18, lost a bit already but unfortunately due to a relapse (my own stupid fault) have put a bit back on. Ahh well, onwards and upwards.
Used to be a size 10-12 and 10.7 then I had my DD 2 years ago and ballooned after a bout of PND.

Hello antimatter and dothefridgesquat

Well after a bit of weight loss over the last week and a half, I had chicken nuggets and chips followed by one of the kids Twister ice lollies. Nothing I can do about it now. Will try to be better tomorrow.

Hello betty!

As long as you are positive and doing something about it you are going to be fine!

I think if you were to calculate 1 meal over 10 good days (at least 29 good meals!) won't make massive difference and you will stay on track!

Do you get no break at work at all? I try to go for a 20-30 minute walk.

I've lost 9 pound since I last posted!!

I think its a combination of moving house (lots to do so no time to overeat and lots of activity), coming off my period and meeting a new man!

Feel so much better already its given me a much needed lift.
