Easter egg for 13 month old?

Sorry first thread, so not entirely sure I'm in the right place!

A bit of forward planning. Our son will be 13 months old at Easter, and as he's yet to experience chocolate, chocolate flavoured foods, or anything sugary, I thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce him to choc as a treat.

My plan is to buy an incredibly small egg and feed him little pieces over a few days, does anyone have any thoughts?

If you really want to give 13m chocolate, what is absolutely not neccesary, then at least get a quality chocolate which almost certainly will not be an chocolate egg.

Give him the egg and let him enjoy it. Don't worry. I fretted so much about my little girl's consumption of all the things 'they' say you shouldn't give an infant/toddler (she is 2.5 now) and looking back I wish I had just let her have a bit of anything and everything. I shouldn't have worried so much.

My DS will be 13 months at Easter too and I have got him a moo-free egg with buttons (he is dairy free). You can't keep chocolate and sweet things taboo forever!

You can keep it taboo with young children as they certainly have no way of knowing about it unless introduced by parents. They have no habits of eating provessed sweets unless these are being offerend to them. Young child will not go to the store to bus a piece of chocolate.

Mine is 19 months and had some chocolate at Christmas. She's not had any since, and so far is not showing any signs of a dangerous chocolate addiction .
