How to stop myself from feeling so miserable over losing weight

So I’m on an extreme diet right now. I am only eating breakfast ( porridge and fruit mixed in) and i have no lunch and for dinner at night I sometimes have soup but not every night. I know this is extreme starving myself but my body just won’t lose weight eating normal meals even cutting portion size. I had a baby 16 months ago and I breastfed for 15 of them months so now I want to lose weight but if I don’t do it this way I won’t lose any weight. I feel so miserable seeing my husband and kids eat nice home cooked food and I’m just there with a cup of tea! Anyone else who has a body that just won’t lose weight without starving themselves?

I am no expert but I think I have heard that this approach actually causes your body to store more fat as it is in survival mode. It is also not good for your mental health.

How about 1250 calories, lots of water and a 1/2 hour walk a day? Manageable and works!

Hope things get better for you xx

That sounds beyond extreme and not very healthy.

How long do you plan to diet like this? A week, two weeks, a month, longer? And what do you think will happen when you've lost the weight and start eating normally again?

This won’t work. Join slimming world and they’ll tell you that eating is the secret- just eat the right things. You will put more weight on in the long run. I went from 14 stone 2 to 10 stone 12 in the year after having dd doing slimming world. I stopped and started to put it back on. Please don’t keep doing what you are doing.
