I am not sure what to write I am trying to distract myself whilst she is at the vet :( I am waiting for the vet to call.

I am heartbroken.

Apparently they have managed to stabilise the seizures but she is very jaundiced.

My poor baby Charlie :(

Really sorry to hear this Crazy. Has the vet called yet?

Report
CrazyDuchess · 01/10/2017 16:43

Yes... apparently a bit better than she was this morning and not was not having seizures as previously reported.

Issues with liver - maybe pancreatitis? Vet said a lot but I struggled to contain what be was saying. Will conduct an ultrasound tomorrow possible x-ray. So she will be in for the next couple of days at least.

I feel a touch better but will be much happier when she is home with me!

My girl had pancreatitis and was jaundiced. She was critically ill for a week but against all odd made a full recovery and is currently patrolling the living room. Hand hold, it’s horrible. Hope your cat is insured. Her bills including a laparotomy was £5000.

I think my girls as caused by a lump in her neck. She came home with a feeding tube in her neck but she soon ate when I stopped feeding her milk.

Lol she is gorgeous - we named her Charlie as we wasn't sure if she was a she when we collected her. The dark hair under her eyes makes it look like she is wearing eyeliner Grin she is gorgeous.

I hope to have her home soon!

Still pretty critical but better than yesterday.. x ray /ultrasound showed no masses or tumours. Vet said there was a small amount of free fluid, but not enough to get a decent sample.

Still on medication to reduce the inflammation and fluids as she was very dehydrated but better than yesterday... I am hoping she will be even better when we go to visit tomorrow and pray for a weekend homecoming.

Thank you for asking xxx

Don’t rush him coming home. I had my girl home on day leave and with hindsight I wish I hadn’t. The idea was to see if she ate or drank or brightened up at home. She didn’t, She went straight up stairs and hid in the spare room. Something she never does. I wish I’d just left her in peace at the vet. (Who were excellent)

I’m a peadiatric nurse and found it rally bizarre that she was on Morphine and ketamine and the same drugs and fluids we use at work. I did suggest popping her in s cor at work but my colleagues thought I’d be giving her all my attention! Can’t imagine why!!

I treasured the cuddles we had at the vet, she hates being picked up, but she reached out and touched my face. I know she appreciated my visits even though she was so ill. I stroked her head and she went to sleep on her final night at the vets. It was lovely. She’s now marching around my bed demanding fuss. I found out later that she was ‘famous’ at the vets. When I asked why they said because she’s got such a lovely personality and because she survived” I’m so proud of her. Hopefully your Lively girl will be back to normal soon.

Much much better:) vet will rub more blood tests today and will have a conversation later but I think we are still working on the assumption that Charlie will be home this weekend. I have missed her face!

Thanks for asking!

Is she eating?

Report
CrazyDuchess · 06/10/2017 13:12

Yes very well - so she will come home tomorrow but will still require weeks of medications to keep the inflammation down. I think trying to get the fluids in her might get a little tricky but the vet said to add a little water to the wet food.
I am very nervous but also so happy that she is coming home.
