The litter tray

"D"H put cat outside, fireworks, cat not come back

Bloody stupid husband put the cat out earlier this evening. There is a firework display on this evening not far away. As well as a few bangs from somewhere over the road. Cat is now staying out, probably scared witless somewhere.

For someone who is supposed to be intelligent, husband does some incredibly stupid things. He said "I didn't think".

Come home cat.

Do you know where cat normally goes go out shake cat treats call him/her. Hope cats ok.

Ours are tucked up indoors, luckily not too bad around here.

She doesn't normally go far. I've been out in the garden shaking food bowl but no sign. Hoping she's just hiding somewhere, poor thing.

Me of our cats is very feral, won't come in if we're in the kitchen. He was out for the whole of the neighbours firework display, probably hiding under the shed. He came back in at some point later in the evening.

The cat will be fine. Not the end of the world.

Make him go looking for her- he put her out, he can sodding well waste his evening searching for her.

I hope she's home soon- some of the fireworks here have been awful.

If DH did that I'd send him out to find the cat and he wouldn't be welcome home without him.

Angry

However your cat has probably found somewhere she feels safe and is probably feeling better about it all than you are!

Hope she's back soon.

He put her out to encourage her to poo outside. We have a catflap so she can get back in. She's normally in now sitting on my lap.

Good idea! Out he goes. And he cant fit through catflap so he stays out!

(joke)

Well, that's no bad thing. We came down to find the living room stinking and cat shit on the extension plugs behind the TV, because the cats had been too scared to go outside.

Why send DH out to find her, she'll be hiding somewhere.

Why would DH shut your cat out, on a weekend when drunk people are doing stupid things with gun-powder?

Do you normally shut your cat out at night?

Dh did the same last night 🙄

Haircups · 06/11/2016 21:16

No, she goes out to do her business and we shut her in overnight.

He didn't shut the catflap so she could have come straight back in. Just stupid to put her outside at all on this particular evening.

Is he bovvered?

One of mine shot out one night a few years back and didnt come back; I figured because fireworks were between her and home. She did stay out all night on bitter cold night and v scarey. Was so relieved to see her next day. She never went anywhere and although enjoyed the sun/heat outdoors in summer would only go outside to toilet otherwise.

Not like letting the dog out for a wee is it!

I do hope he's back soon and then keep flap locked for some days weeks months

Really really surprised that anyone leaves open access to outside during the days/week around fireworks?!?!? Cats just run and then try to work things out after .

She's back, safe and sound.

She's not keen on going outside so the open catflap wasn't an issue. Thanks for your concern though, Shriek.
