Like today.

Erika, you chose to move to Oz and have kids there.

Now they're teens and don't want to move, and she only has 5 years before the youngest is 18 and can move back if she wants.

But all she does is bitch and moan.

A lot of these moaners don't know they were born!

I'm an immigrant myself, and sometimes, Scotland really gets me down, the weather, mainly.

But you know? When you move somewhere and have a family, it's not just about you and your whingy desires anymore.

What a cow!

She doesn't need a trip to England, she needs a kick up the jacksie!

Is this the one on in the mornings? With her with the annoying voice? I've only seen about 3 but the women in it seem to be the most annoying women ever. It's all me, me, me. How are you susposed to decide in a week anyway? That's like being on holiday.

Hi, I'm one of those whinging losersgrin and our programme is going to be on tomorrow.Would love to hear what you think.

beatiebow Mon 24-Aug-09 21:34:30

This is my favourite programme! I am an immigrant and might have to emigrate-love watching how people make their decisions.

cocolepew Mon 24-Aug-09 21:37:07

OH Oh Oh I'm going to Sky+ it!

cocolepew Mon 24-Aug-09 21:37:36

<<faints with excitement>>

DebInAustria Mon 24-Aug-09 21:57:58

Can I just tell you all that obviously since the programme was filmed - last October I have lost all the baby weight and am now a shadow of my former self!!grin

bluebump Mon 24-Aug-09 21:58:39

Oh I wish I had my sky+ still!

expatinscotland Mon 24-Aug-09 22:23:06

I'll put it on.

The ones today weren't so bad.

That one in teh Czech Republic was a bit of a moo, though.

'Oh, I don't like modern houses . . . '

But the presenter wanted to say, 'Well, then you'd better find some more money.'

DebInAustria Mon 24-Aug-09 22:47:36

Bluebump - you can watch it on ITV Player

beatiebow Mon 24-Aug-09 22:51:13

The teenage boy on the Czech one was hilarious-he was certain if they moved to the UK he would 'go downhill'.

DebInAustria Mon 24-Aug-09 23:00:45

Beatiebow - I'm hoping that you'll get to see our boys going downhill too - skiing!

beatiebow Mon 24-Aug-09 23:18:11

Sounds much more palatable than teenage decline!

Hmm, I'm an immigrant myself. The difference is that there is no language barrier AND my husband is Scottish. As such, I think it's been far, far easier for me to integrate here, and our children were born here.

I think in Deb's case I'd be inclined to repatriate now when the children are still fairly young, tbh.

I used to go out with an Austrian man, and he was lovely and they were lovely people, but it was super-hard to get accepted even with him at my side.

I think if you've given a place a fair shot, and as many years as they've been there is definitely that, and you're still not happy, vote with your feet!

expatinscotland Tue 25-Aug-09 11:02:19

I do find the presenter of this show incredibly irritating. Her voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me and she's so fecking patronising on air I often feel inclined to want to box her ears, tweak her nose or slap her.

beatiebow Tue 25-Aug-09 11:23:15

When was it filmed Deb? Are you in the process of moving now?

DebInAustria Tue 25-Aug-09 13:25:50

It was filmed last October, ds3 is now 14 months old! House is for sale but we're still accepting bookings for winter because we don't know how long it will take.So it's just a waiting game.

expatinscotland Tue 25-Aug-09 13:27:53

Hope you're able to make the move soon, Deb.

It looks like it's the right one for you and yours, although I do think you'll be able to find much nicer properties for your budget than were shown on the programme wink!

bluebump Tue 25-Aug-09 15:57:58

Ooh thanks DebInAustria, I will check out itv player later. I was about to ask where you are moving back from but just re-read your name blush

cocolepew Tue 25-Aug-09 16:41:10

Gah! Sky+ failed I only saw 8 minutes, so I can't comment on whingyness grin I take it you are coming back then?

Actually you need to whinge a bit more with MrDebs, years writing a rock opera while you do all the cleaning hmm.

You have beautiful children smile.

DebInAustria Tue 25-Aug-09 17:13:23

lol Coco at Mr Debs!!I don't do all of it, but that's how it comes across!!

OMG, the chap today is a total wanker!

She only has £15,000 left from selling her family home?

I'm thinking she used most of her money supporting his wanky dreams.

beatiebow Fri 28-Aug-09 14:03:32

I would have been shocked if he had made her stay in Bulgaria!

I am getting more and more homesick/emotional watching this programme but can't stop as am addicted.

expatinscotland Fri 28-Aug-09 14:14:42

He was just taking the piss trying to get out of getting a job. What's-her-face really caught him out on that, saying he was effectively retired in his 40s in Bulgaria. What was he going to do when the money ran out?

What a L-O-S-E-R.
