....and it was fab

Tom Hardy was fantastic as Heathcliff, as was the girl who plays Cathy. I could sit and watch it all again today.

I lose interest in the book- but this newer (ITV I think adaptation) flows really well and really keeps you hooked.

I can't wait for this. I love Wuthering Heights. How did you get to see it?

Cornsilk- Its on Youtube (in 10 minute segments) Not ideal but I was transfixed.

It has been made for ITV to be shown around Xmas time but it has already been shown in the US (which is how it has turned up on youtube)
I just put it onto fullscreen on my laptop- fantastic adaptation.

And yes- Tom Hardy makes it all the better!

I think he is an amazing actor and great in every part that he has played (his portrayal of Bill Sykes in Oliver Twist was fantastic- a real psychopath!

Apparently its being shown on ITV over the Aug Bank holiday- and the UK version is actually longer than the US version (the one on youtube)

Cant wait! (its also being released on DVD in Sept)

That guy that plays Heathcliff is so right. At last! Someone has actually read the book before casting.

Yes - he's perfect. Andrew Lincoln looks like a good choice as well. Not sure about Cathy or Hareton yet. Hareton is one of my favourite characters.

I wonder if there is any truth in the rumour that the two leads have fallen for each other in real life? I'm sure I read about it on the net somewhere. I thought it was quite romantic until it said he had left his long-time girlfriend and baby son to be with his co-star.

Hareton plays a really small role in this production I feel. There isn't much of him, which is a shame.

About the real life romance- Tom Hardy worked with the girl who played Cathy in the production of the Martina Cole book 'The Take'

I wonder if they are getting it on in real life?

Have seen it all now. Love Heathcliff and Cathy. Disappointed with how they portray Hareton - far too meek. I preferred the Hareton in the Ralph Fiennes version. Liked Catherine though. Linton was far too nice, he should have been more snivelling. Nelly was great, also liked Edgar. Can't wait to see it properly on the telly!

I think that may be a bit of vicious gossip.

Yes that is the only place I saw it.

Having just watched the first part of wuthering heights I just cannot think any bad of Mr Hardy. He is just smouldering.

I agree.

I would find it hard to turn him down.

Has he got an official site where I can drool over him for the odd hour or five? I can't belive I feel like I am 15 again! Most tv presenters/ actors do nothing for me - he really does have an auora (sp?) about him. Even bigger times ahead for him I think.

Twas good. Better than I expected. Heathcliff was a total git - so often they try to potray him as sympathetic when he isn't really - and Edgae was less of a pussy than usual.
