Well, it was far from my first thought shamefully. I went through infertile first. I knew that was off though, as the island can cure it, so it would have to be that she has gone through an hysterectomy at some point.

Wonder why Jack doesn't want to see the baby ? Maybe he doesn't know it's Aaron and assumes Kates baby is actually Sawyers ?

So that must be why Kate refuses to go back to the Island when Jack asks her (in his beardy period). Kate say's 'he'll be waiting for me (Aaron) but she can't leave the state cos of the deal she made with the lawyer.

I think that at some point, Jack made a decision that meant that Claire died. Later he found out that she was his sister and now he can't play happy families with Kate knowing what happened.
