Spoiler free discussion thread.

I'm looking forward to this, anyone else? Hopefully it won't take itself too seriously unlike a lot of things that Marvel Studios has put out recently!

Ooh. Yes. When does it start? I vaguely recall December?

I'm looking forward to this too, anyone know what time it's likely to appear? I'm conveniently "working" from home on 24th

DS & I are excited for this! Seems like an outpouring of marvel at the moment. From the trailer it looks like it will have a more light-hearted type of feel. Hawkeye was always my favourite, although DH looks very sceptical when I say that!

😂

I see I’m not the only one. I was raging when they changed his costume for a weird coat in age of ultron. Get the vest back on please.

Wasn't a fan of the coat !

Hi all - I can't wait for this! I really like Jeremy Renner but wow doesn't he look craggy in the trailer Grin I won't be able to watch on Wednesday but will have to leave it until the weekend when DS is back to watch with me.

I finally saw Black Widow recently when it became free on Disney+ - for those who have seen it, do you think the post-credits scene will influence the plot of the series?

Was black widow good is it set pre avengers?

I really liked it and the end sets up for Hawkeye and gives an insight onto how Black Widow came to be.

It's set in the middle of Avengers when they disband (civil war) and about what Nat does whilst in hiding and introduces Florence Pugh's character who I assume will play a part in the Hawkeye series.

Yes, partly, but also leading to what's planned for future films/series.
A lot of these spin offs seem to be about replacements for the original cast.

I was about to say, it’s out?!!

But no, so place marking. Can’t wait to see Yelena again. I really liked her in black widow

I enjoyed Black Widow, haven’t let kids see it though so hoping it’s not too reliant on knowing back story.
As Hawkeye won’t really know Yelena I think not.

I think as long as they know Hawkeye & Black Widow we’re together when she died and Yelena is Natasha’s little sister they could figure it out pretty easily that she blames him for her sister’s death.

Also, marvel shows tend to belabour the backstory. As if anyone is watching Loki who hasn’t seen any of the films and has no idea what’s going on, so they pop in a little slideshow in episode one.

I'll watch it with DD but she is a weird late shift this week so might not see it till the weekend.Sad

Don't know whether to watch it by myself after dropping the kids to school tomorrow, or be polite and wait to watch it with DH.

It will be the first one. I watched all of WandaVision as soon as it came out and pretended I was watching it for the first time later on.

I didn't bother doing that with Falcon and The Winter Soldiezzzzzzzzzzz

Were you like that scene in friends ‘this is brand new information!’

I will likely be watching Friday as will be too knackered and busy at weekend and have whole day to myself on Friday, so will spend one hour cramming in a weeks worth of jobs followed by several hours luxuriating and watching telly!

Really hoping it’s good to be honest. Used to be a big marvel fan but maybe not a super fan as I do find it can be so hit and miss. Some of the films/shows are so enjoyable and really excellent and others are just a totally different standard!

Really enjoyed the first two eps. NYC at Christmastime is a great setting and the two leads have a nice chemistry.

DH has decided we have to finish our chronological rewatch of the films before we start Hawkeye. Hmm

If it takes too long I'm going to take a leaf out of Ellie's book and watch without him.

@GrouchyKiwi Shock how many films have you left to watch?

DH ended up changing his shift to a late start today so I got to watch with him. Really enjoyed it. Great humour, great chemistry between the leads. Perhaps drags a bit during the Bishop family scenes but that's my only complaint. And yes, the Christmas trees are stunning.
