That was a bit vague sorry.🙈

I feel it's something that needs to be left alone, and I definitely don't think the case should be reopened at all, even if there was somebody else involved in the "disappearance". The two main people were dealt with, I agree that their sentences were too short, and both should of got a lot longer, especially Karen as what she did herself was just horrific!!! But I just feel that, Sharron deserves to carry on living her life in peace, she will have enough hellish memories of what happened in them weeks she was held in that house, I don't think she needs to be reminding of it all by them bringing countless amounts of TV programmes out about it.

We don't have a clue what Shannon's (not Sharron's) life is like, whether it is peaceful or not.

Oh wow, I didn't realise I had wrote Sharron, I do apologise 🙄

And well obviously I have just presumed that she is living a peaceful life then haven't I, or maybe that's just what kind of life I hope for her after all she went through. Whether she is living a peaceful life or an un-peaceful life I still feel that IMO it's a case that doesn't need to be brought up.. for Shannons sake.

Nick Ferrari pissed me off with his classist comments

Wherever Shannon is i hope she has a happy life now.

I caught the second half of this , it seems to me that the 'friend' is a bit too keen on her 15 minutes of fame and as for suggesting that Shannon should contact her old school friends to give them some kind of closure is plain bizarre . I don't think this kind of programme helps anybody , least of all the victim . I hope Shannon and her brothers and sisters are happy and doing well , let's leave them alone .

Wasn't Nick Ferrari the journalist on the Meredith Kercher/Amanda Knox doc?

Absolute bottom feeder if so.

Report
HelenaDove · 01/03/2017 00:06

Floral i also thought that was a bit strange. When i was 18 i wouldnt have thought of contacting anyone i hadnt seen since i was 9. Nine years is an incredibly long time in the life of a child/young woman.

9 to 18 goes a lot slower than 31 to 40 because time goes quicker when you are older. Its not the same for a child/young person.

Agree, the friend has turned the whole thing round and made it about her feelings, and what she thinks rather than the one person that should matter. The closure with friends for Shannon was bizarre, suggesting she just turns up and says hi, like that would be good for anyone. The whole documentary was focused about what Julie wanted.. nothing else. Agree it needs to be left alone!

Julie, the friend, really grates on me. I think she loves the attention.

HelenaDove · 01/03/2017 00:08

EX His comments about how anyone from the same social background automatically wouldnt be believed if (God forbid) a child went missing really boiled my piss.

Bet he wouldnt dare make similar comments about another case!

Oh I didn't hear that helena 😳 amazing what they can get away with saying!

Agree about Julie completely!! The things she kept saying about how she sits at home on her computer all the time and still goes through all the archive information about the case, and how she would love to scrutinise the witness statements because there would be something in them that she would see that the professionals would of missed 🤔🙄 ok then, am I right in thinking she'd of been paid for that?

Plus Julie's comment about the kids who knew Shannon from school not believing she's alive because they didn't see her again... They'll be 18! And Shannon should ''pop back to see them for 2 minutes, at least'' Confused

It must have cost a lot of taxpayers money to give the mother a new identity, New place to live, money to set her up, money to live on. Those things won't come cheap.
Nobody begrudges Shannon a new, identity. but why are,we spending money helping a criminal?

I don't know why the programme was made. No insight at all. Just the Julie Bushby show. I don't think she came across very well.

DigestiveMuncher · 01/03/2017 00:52

And a criminal that didn't even do her full sentence.. it's like her crime didn't matter, like it wasn't as bad as what it actually was, if that makes sense.

I'm 5 mins into this and I despise Julie Bushby already. She is loving the attention and I'm guessing this need to keep in touch with Karen is purely to benefit herself. I see she is going to be pimping out her prison letters later on in the show, not the actions of a 'friend'.

yep definatley the Julie Bushby show its all about what she wants , she wants the case reopened ,why in whose interest would that serve ,the police have already said they think more people were involved but they must not have enough evidence to prove it i think Julie loved her 15 minutes of fame and she doesnt want it to end i dont know why tv shows keep pandering to her. And yes why exactly would Shannon conme back to the estate to let everyone know she was all right , i hope her and her siblings have found some peace and happiness.

Completely agree with the comments about Julie Bushby. She's clearly missing the drama and attention.

I also think it's odd when they say that it can't have been just KM and the uncle involved because they lacked the intelligence. It was hardly the work of criminal masterminds - it smacked of exactly what it was; a badly thought out, stupid and callous act by stupid and callous people.

Also - bitchy and irrelevant I know - but if you were appearing on TV wouldn't you wash your hair?!

I was tempted to watch but tbh I feel the continued media attention must be painful for Shannon, so I'd rather not encourage it.

I thought the same about Julie I sensed she was abit smug that she could spot something they couldn't. I also found it out about her wanting Shannon to come back.

I don't know why they seem to think others where involved either. It doesn't take much intelligence to keep a 9 year old child drugged, in fear and tied to a bed. The hard bit would be getting her to the house without anyone seeing her, and I think that was pure luck. It wasn't some mastermind plan, they got caught in the end and were suspected long before that.

I couldn't believe Julie expects Shannon to come back to the estate, that was a bit jaw dropping. I don't believe for a second she is thinking of 'the kids' (18 year old young adults more like) she wants her back for her own curiosity, she is too overinvested in this still and she would love to get her hands on Shannon to fill in some blanks and have some gossip fodder. She would be straight onto the newspapers trying to extend that 15 mins if she heard any tidbit of info on Shannon, her ordeal or her new identity.

Of course she's only thinking of herself.

Shame for her kids. Seems like she neglected them during and after the disappearance and also ever since!
