Me too Sad

Bernadette looked genuinely devastated

Aww I wondered when they were going to write that in.

Will I need tissues?

No.

I didn't find it very moving. Howie's acting skills are too limited to display any real emotion.

Penny's hair made me want to cry though.

It doesn't seem that funny any more either.

I found it very sad watching the end bit where they were all on the sofa raising their glasses. Must've been so sad for the actors filming that scene :(

Oh I really liked it & it did make me cry. I kept thinking how genuinely sad they must all have been too.

I thought they did it very well.
A sad scene pitched just right.

Yeah for me it was the bit when Leonard said "a great mother.... to all of us" (or something like that).

squoosh but this episode wasn't supposed to be funny?

I know this was supposed to be the poignant episode but it was also supposed to be funny, all the gags about Amy's experiment on Penny etc.

But I wasn't referring specifically to this episode I just feel the last couple of series' have been a bit flat.

Made me tear up too. Very moving I thought

It was handled really well. They didn't go OTT with sentimental stuff. The quiet lead up with Howard getting really possessive over his mothers furniture, his insecurities about losing her to the comic shop guy. And then she was gone....

Maybe my heart has turned to stone. I expected to find it moving but just didn't. As I say this may be coloured by opinion that the show has gone off the boil somewhat.

It has lost some of its sparkle. You're right.

The next episode turns the death of Mrs W into farce too but there's a nice bit with Penny and Sheldon which is really worth watching.

Spoiler alert, well sort of.

I heard that later on in this series there is a bit about Leonard getting his knickers all in a twist because Penny starts doing really really well at her job. I'm looking forward to seeing that.

Me, dh and DS all went kind of quiet during the sad bit. And really it was hay fever that made my eyes water.
Rip 'mrs wolowitz'

Hearts, there is a bit with him getting his knickers in a twist. He finds out that Penny makes double what he does and has a financial adviser who has helped her invest. It's a good episode if only because Will Wheaton is in it. Smile It's a few episodes ahead of the current one airing here.

Kevin Smith's in it too btw. He has the funniest line of the episode.

I thought it was a really poignant episode, and a lovely tribute to Mrs W.
