Yep, watched one episode and we both liked it. I've checked on Wikipedia that there's definitely going to be a second series as I've been caught out before watching great series that disappear.

I watched episode 1 on demand last night with DH. A bit strange, but presuming it will improve once it settles in to the story a bit more!

Yes, it's from the director of Lost but he didn't write it.

The entire 10 episodes is the whole content of a book written by Mark something.

The 2nd series will be all new, unwritten content.

Why do they smoke so much?

I've now had a look on Wiki and got a few answers. It seems that the series will focus on how the event affects thier lives and how they deal with thier losses rather than answering the big question of where everyone went to.

In addition to lambs questions, I wanted to know why the chiefs wife is with the "white" people when they haven't lost anyone in thier family (presuming 2 adults and 2 children as per family photos on the wall). I now know the answer.
