The nudity in a Girls is getting on my wick.

They were all at it tonight. I'm sick of seeing twentysomethings with their firmness being rubbed into my face. I feel all frumpy and judgey. I mean, is there any need for it?

Ha! Grin I love all the nudity,I did a thread the other week. I know I'm in the minority but I like the fact that not so perfect bodies are shown on the screen, we've had far too much botox and plastic perfect bodies for far too long imo.

I'm 43, it doesn't make me feel old at all,I love itGrin

Not so perfect bodies? It's only Hannah's that is outside the box.

This weeks shagging was the two super skinny girls. I don't need to sit there and watch them doing it doggy still for ages. Get on with the story!

The nudity doesn't bother me. Normal people don't keep their bras on when they're having sex. It's never stylised or gratuitous, just normal.

I will watch last night's episode and report back later!

Nope, I love it.

I keep my bra on sometimes when having sex

It's either that or my 34J's would cause a tsunami of sex and we'd end up on the floor Grin

Right, I'm finished watching it!

There was possibly less than a minute of sex, both scenes completely relevant to the story/plot.

Less then a minute, really? It didn't feel like that. I'm still not struck on it tbh I think I'm just too old. I can't relate to it at all. There's the male gay version on afterwards and my bgbf says exactly the same thing. He can't relate to talky whiney California gay men.

tsunami of sex Grin

I like the sex, it's generally in context and much more real than most stuff we see.

I've only seen two episodes and I liked the nudity. I found it very refreshing, natural and untitilating. I can't recall seeing anything like it before.

I've enjoyed it and only just finished both series 1 & 2. Looking forward to when Sky put series 3 on to 'box set' option.....hurry up!

The sex scenes are refreshing to see, haven't seen anything like it before. It's natural, raw, and in touch with how many young women experience it in the early days.

It's so copying SATC it's getting on my nerves. She gets a job with a publishers so Carrie and Vogue, the beach house tonight is so the Hamptons episode. The four main characters are just like the four from SATC only younger.

I don't know what you're talking about Confused

Is it called A Girls?

Report
Lighthousekeeping · 25/02/2014 00:31

There was an interview in the New York Times with Cynthia Nixon and one of the Girls actors recently saying how SATC was a huge influence. The story lines are nearly the same just with "real" bodies.

You could always stop watching lightWink

I loved tonight's episode, when they all shouted at each other and then quietly made up.

Dear God, how someone doesn't punch Marnie I'll never know!

Well all shows are influenced by others. Men Behaving Badly was an influence on Peep Show. Or the Liver Birds was an influence on Sex in the City.

You started from the position that the nudity annoys you. Is it that nudity in all shows annoys you or just where there are 'real bodies' involved?

My theory is if it was Carrie parading around naked no one would mention it.

I loved the green bikini last nightGrin Grin Grin Grin Grin

That wasn't particularly directed at you light house as your OP wasn't about Hannah.

So to sum up I think you are just cat's bum mouth about all nudityWink

I'm still on episode 5.

Exactly Dame. And that's why its wonderful. When Hanna pulls off her top and she's small boobed and big bellied, I want to cheer! The problem is that sexualised nudity and perfect nudity has become our norm, so when we see everyday imperfect nudity, we're all a bit fazed I think...
