To think that Amy Pond would be moving heaven and earth to find her lost daughter?

Geeky I know but I've been tuning in to Doctor Who to see exactly when Amy starts insisting they find her kidnapped daughter. She doesn't seem bothered!!

Is it because of the time space continuum that she's accepted her bereavement?

She has seen she grows into river song though so maybe knowing what she turns out as makes her less worried?

Maybe the understanding now is that the kidnapping had to happen for Melody to grow into River Song? Although that should still be incredibly hard to accept.

Isn't hurtling through a few galaxies enough? Grin

She now knows she grew up with her daughter; she knows everything turns out ok in the end.

I agree I thought the handling of her being pregnant and the baby being taken away was completely rubbish. At the start of the new series she came bouncing along to the doctor and said "where is she, you've had the whole summer to find her." An actual mother would still be in tears and would be distraught at having to wait a whole summer. It was a very badly done storyline.

CailinDana- Its on at 7 so its a program primary for kids they couldn't of shown her screaming and grieving, parents would of been up in arms at their children seeing something like that

True I suppose Illegitimate, although they did show shots of her giving birth which could have caused a lot of questions. Some sadness on her part wouldn't have been too much surely?

'Its on at 7 so its a program primary for kids they couldn't of shown her screaming and grieving, parents would of been up in arms at their children seeing something like that''

but of course children watching characters meeting their end in various gruesome and imaginative ways is perfectly acceptable.

It did occur to me, but to be fair, she hardly had a normal pregnancy and birth.

Seemed to be all over the shop.

Then of course she'd known her daughter for ages before she was born or even conceived.

Oh and River Song is easily the most annoying character ever on a tv programme. Ever. In the history of the world.

its not real, you know...... Grin

I think Rory should be pinning the doctor up against the wall and demanding with menace that they find the baby.

I think Amy should be falling apart. Because I think kids would respond to a mummy being very upset because she loves her baby. ANd trying to find the baby, even if it was risky.

But Amy seems resigned to the fact that she will never have melody back - probably because she met river. Wouldnt the first question on your lips be "when do I find you and where?" or "do you grow up with us?". or even "are you a fixed point in time and space?"

I'm with all of you. If it were me I would be harrassing the Doctor regularly to bloody find my baby. "Raising her" as that tearaway friend they had wouldn't cut it.
My one solace to cling to is that we've seen clips in trailers of the eye patch woman back and River with an eye patch, so there must be some more to this. But I fear we will never see Rory and Amy raising their own baby and that makes me far to sad than I ought to admit Sad

This has been annoying me too. Mind you, seems to be a theme to show something then allude to it only - Doctor's death, Amy's pregnancy.

CailinDana I agree - River Song has always been irritating but they have really upped that!

Did you know there is a Telly Addicts topic?

It's designed for just this kind of TV-related chat.

TAMPONS

She would have been, except the baby came and found her, in the form of Mels. And I think that's as close as they can get to resolving it, for a 'family programme', without it becoming an Eastenders style plot.

It is only science fiction you know....

And I agree, it seems completely weird. No matter how much they "meet" her afterwards, the baby has gone.

'I think Rory should be pinning the doctor up against the wall ....'

...

Sorry, got distracted! Grin Back again.

I've wondered about this too - it seems very odd that she's not upset at all, not even to talk about it much. Especially when Rory and she seemed very bothered with the initial tiny baby stuff. I'm not really sure knowing she'd grow up safe is a convincing reason!
