Am watching! Not sure if its a good idea as anniversary of very dear friends death today but maybe a good cry would be cathartic

I am. It's been incredibly depressing. The thought of that poor baby going three weeks without a visit from his mother,or any other relative,is incredibly sad.

I'm trying not to pull my judgey pants on here, but that father,Tyler's father?,was a real twat earlier who seemed to think it's all about him,and Tyler's mother talking about a new boyfriend made me wince.

I know, poor little sod! I KNOW you shouldn't judge etc etc but am trying very hard not to when I see that little boy

Single mum, several miles away, other kids at home... not much more explanation than that given Sad

She does have other children at home, and lives some distance away, but she hasn't formed a bond with Michael,so there's little affection for him it seems.

Young single mum with other young children who lives 14 miles away and has no car. Can't be easy. No idea about the dad, he's not been mentioned.

You would think there would be more support for her to see him.

I would bloody hitch hike if it was my son in there.

poor Alfie. Sad

Oh how sad for Alfie and his family, they loved him so much.
Im sorry but i have no sympathy for Michael's mother, she got herself in that situation. If she has no money she shouldn't have had children. Feel sad for them though.

SadAlfie. His mum and big brother were very brave.

Where is Michael's father? Agree there should be more support for parents to get to the hospital. The buses would be difficult - but it is still awful to see him alone.

I really don't think living 14 miles away and being a single parent is an excuse for not visiting you're baby - I would walk 14 miles there and back every day to see my child. Different priorities I guess. Feel desperately sorry for Alfie and his family also, hopefully bring baptised just in time can bring some peace.

Did Alfie die? Did his life support have to be turned off? I'm watching online as I'm in Scotland and it isn't being shown here. The last part I saw was that Alfie's mother asked to have him baptised, then my computer went offline for a few minutes.

hurricanewyn · 21/06/2011 21:55

Alfie dies. We saw him being baptised and then a message saying he died aged five days old.

I think Michael's mum has PND. It's the only reason I can think of for not visiting for so long.
