I sometimes put a couple of the individual lashes at the corners of my eyes if I'm going out in the evening. Couldn't wear them on a daily basis as I worry all the time I'm wearing them that one has fallen off (This has never happened) and has landed on my cheek for all the world to see.

Superdrug stock a huge range of false eyelashes. I use Eylure individual lashes. Use tweezers to hold the lash securely. Dip the bottom of the lash in the glue provided then hold it for a few seconds against your eyelid as close to the lash line as possible. It's a bit fiddly but once you've used them a few times it gets quicker.

I have trichotillomania, and pull out my eyelashes. I've just started wearing falsies more frequently. I use ELF 'Natural Lashes' here - they are lovely and also v cheap

do you put eyeliner on before or after the falsies?

I use waterproof liquid eyeliner, and put it on before. Mascara afterwards.

oooh, thank you !!

i think i will try the individual ones for a while to get used to them, as i found the strip ones a bit heavy at first.

thank you amandoh and ninth wave!

oh, and if you put the mascara on afterwards, does it clog up the lashes, or are they still useable again?

Mine are still useable - I only put on the tiniest bit of mascara to blend in my natural eyelashes. You can use a baby wipe to get the mascara off though

The Eylure ones are not re-usable once you've put mascara on them. You get lots in the packet though and they're not expensive.

I put liquid liner on first. Then the individual lashes and then some mascara.

Let us know how you get on Lulumama.

how and when do you take them off again?

Report
Amandoh · 10/10/2009 23:14

Erm, they're usually on the pillow the next morning.

The Eylure set comes with eyelash glue remover but a little pull generally shifts them easily enough.

thanks, thats what i suspected

so if not on pillow will come off in the shower the next morning?

I'm quite tempted to try the individual ones

Yes, a warm shower will get them off.

I've yet to have any fall off while I'm out (Touch wood!) but a gentle pull usually gets them off. Just have to be careful not to pull any of your own lashes out with them.

At first it's a bit like wearing a hat - you are sure everyone is noticing/noting your falsies, but they're really not, and after a couple of hours they'll feel fine and natural
