Got a Bourjois one yesterday - very pleased with it.

hermykne Wed 11-May-05 14:16:57

sounds good the loreal one, bourjois is always sold out in my local boots

Kayleigh Wed 11-May-05 14:18:54

Love clinique pretty lashes.

Lizzylou Wed 11-May-05 15:02:25

For day I use a MAC pro lash dark brown one and for special occasions (I have lots left! ) Lancome Amplicils....both v good

hermykne Wed 11-May-05 19:37:22

i know the feeling!
its like why buy dressy clothes anymore

vickiyumyum Wed 11-May-05 19:55:45

i love benfit bad gal lash mascara. its great, its not waterproof but it doesn't smudge, makes my piddly little eyelashes look long and curvy. it costs about £15 (not entirley sure though as got caught up in the whole sales pitch and left the benefit counter £178 lighter!!)

i alos like the ysl false lash effect one, again not waterproof, but great and comes in lovely expensive looking gold packaging (which is always a bonus in my books)

Tinker Wed 11-May-05 20:05:53

at £178 on make-up!

emmamama Wed 11-May-05 20:21:34

Vickiyumyum - - what else did you get for £178????

expatinscotland Wed 11-May-05 20:22:48

clinique is the ONLY one that doesn't give me panda eyes. the stuff in the shiny silver tube.

expatinscotland Wed 11-May-05 20:24:05

£178! That's Benefit for ya. The mascara's good, but in that range I've found Laura Mercier products to be superior quality. LOVE Laura Mercier!

now i dont know what to do?
thinking benefit as i have nt tried before
ysl sounds good - like the look too
laura mercier never tried

need length and definition
and one that doesnt dry out -my chanel one is a bit moisture less...
like i have nothing else to think about

vickiyumyum Wed 11-May-05 21:53:08

i got the full works for £178 (it was payday!) i got the mascara, dear john moisturiser, hula bronzer powder, some eyeshadow, lipgloss, high beam which gives you a nice glow, ooh la lift (tightens the bags under your eyes and i now won't leave the house without putting someon., some tinted moituriser.
and a great product called doctor feelgood which makes your skin really smooth and stops shine and if you have any large pores it closes/covers them.
it was payday and i was feeling a bit down (pmt) so went into house of fraser with the intention of blowing my wages on a new hadbag but after the make up hall i didn't have any money left, but felt much better.
i had never used benefit products before, but swear by them now and they do really good consultant sessions where they let you try it all out without pressurising you. i've seen some other powder that i want called dandelion (i think) roll on pay day!!!

vickiyumyum Wed 11-May-05 21:55:09

i would def suggest benefit for everyday uumphh as not to false lash effect the ysl one is more of a night time/going out one as really does give you big, long lashes.

never tried laura mercier, where do you buy that?

Tanzie Wed 11-May-05 22:55:03

I went mad on Laura Mercier - got the foundation primer, foundation, secret camouflage concealer and another concealer for eye bags <<whispers>> over GBP 100!

But my skin does look faaabulous and the concealer is brilliant and it lasts for ages as you need only v small amounts of everything due to huge amount of pigment (see? I listened to all the sales patter too!)

vickiyumyum Thu 12-May-05 19:48:15

please please tell me where can i buy laura mercier products i have tried my local house of fraser and boots today but just got blank looks.

i feel that i may become obsessed with finding these products!!!

hermykne Thu 12-May-05 20:18:12

got the YSL one, fancy all day uumphh, vicky!

expatinscotland Thu 12-May-05 20:29:32

Do you have a Harvey Nick's or Selfridge? They both sell Laura Mercier - thank HEAVEN!

vickiyumyum Thu 12-May-05 20:32:12

hope you like it hermykne i think its great. the packaging looks nice too!

Newbarnsleygirl Thu 12-May-05 20:32:43

Another one for Laura Mercier here!

Love it. Spent £80 on it!

I got mine from SpaceNK Apothecary on-line.

expatinscotland Thu 12-May-05 20:40:11

Forgot about SpaceNK, NBG. Great idea!

I adore every one of her products that I've tried.

My current fav for warmer weather is the tinted moisturiser.

I use 'Just Lips' lippy nearly every day.

Laura does a wonderful job with makeup for women in their 30s and up. She's just class - the personification of French sophistication.

Newbarnsleygirl Thu 12-May-05 20:41:06

Expat do you use the foundation?
