Decent Quality Dungarees

I know there are a million dungaree threads so I apologise in advance for another one. I'm hoping to get some recommendations of decent dungaree brands for a short size 12-14 with a tummy (not massive, but very much there!)

I don't like faffing around with ties so Lucy abd Yak are out (but I do very much like the baggy fit of the ones I've tried).

I've tried Fatface Clayton in a 12 (nice but not sure about the leg length on me) and have ordered some Lewes in a 12 in the hope that the fit will be similar.

I've heard of Run and Fly and am tempted by some of their less dinosaur-y styles (are they decent quality?) Any of the other high street brands worth looking at? Thank you!

I just bought denim ones from Sainsbury's and they're absolutely fantastic. I'm 12-14 and the 14 is perfect- not too baggy and actually make me look slimmer. I got the dark but they also have pale ones.

I have the Lucy and Yak ones but I don't bother to untie them. I just slip the straps on and off so I find them super easy to wear.

I was going to suggest the Fat Face Lewes ones. Don't know about Run and Fly.

The Lucy & Yak ones don't need retying several times a day.- you just slip the straps over your shoulders when you put them on or take them off.

I have some from Gap and the quality is fine

Thanks so much! It's not so much the retying as making the straps look 'right'in th first place - I just kept retying them because they felt flappy!

Sainsbury's (TU?) is a good shout, thank you! I don't have one near but I'll have a browse online. I'm glad to see Lewes recommended - I'm quite excited to try those.

@kirstenblest are the Gap true to size? Thanks!

I bought some from Joules, they are lovely thick denim. Some twee embroidered stuff on the inside, but nobody sees that...

I got the Lewes in blue and absolutely love them! Sized down to a 12 and they're really flattering and comfy.

I'm looking for a dark blue or black pair now, or maybe something in corduroy...
Also checking out the other recommendations (on eBay Grin).

Gap. Love mine. I'm a 10 and mine are size small, they're a relaxed fit I'd say.
Size 12-14 would be size medium I would have thought

I've ordered some corduroy ones from New Look, I suppose they are not full dungarees as they don't have the buckles but maybe more a dungaree style jumpsuit. I think they are burgundy. I also got some (surprisingly) nice ones from Boohoo of all places but although the denim seems good quality, the buckles don't stay clipped so often end up with the one shoulder look!

I have 3 pairs of fatface 1 x Clayton and. 2x lewes. They are great. If I didn't have these I would go for the new Baukjen ones or maybe even Wyse ( both are higher priced though). I wouldn't wear the run and fly ones but I know lots of people love them

I have dozens of Run and Fly dungarees and they are the most comfortable items of clothing in the world. I prefer their corduroy ones personally. I've washed and worn them all many, many times.

I've been eyeing up a pair of Baukjen dungas @Sooverthemill The price is a bit of an issue but we'll see!

Thanks all for the tips - I think I might be a dungaree fan now!

I have Gap ones and I love them. If you are not sure which size you are try more than one size.

They are pricey. MLC15 gives 15% off I think. I buy from baukjen more now because of their pledges ( and results) and they do have lovely classic clothes and I aim for 30 wears per item
Eg Use at least 85% responsibly sourced fabrics and fibres, a percentage that has been growing with every collection

I got some gorgeous navy cord ones from MandCo (never bought from them before) a d I love them. I'm a big 12, and I went for a 14 which are lovely but I reckon I could have got a 12

I have run and fly in black cotton. I love them but the colour has faded after 3 washes. The fit is great though and very flattering. I’m 12-14 and got the XS which is fitted on me. If I’d wanted a bit looser I’d have got the S

Toast dungarees are amazing. The bib is wider than most other brands, which is good because I have quite big boobs. Its a lovely dark denim too. Not cheap but it wears amazingly well. Size down, though

I love dungarees and have several pairs of Fat Face Lewes ones. however, it depends on what style/fit you like. I tried some Lucy and Yak denim ones....they were baggy and awful and made me look like a telly tubbie. but I know people love them.

I’m another Run and Fly fan, I have about 20 pairs and love them - they are really comfy and quite hard wearing. The darker colours do fade a bit but not too bad.

I’m a size 12 with a bit of a tummy, I also own many pairs of dungarees, my favourite and best fitting are run and fly, I have 3 pairs (and another on the way) 😬, also loved my GAP denim dungarees but I broke a clip on them. Not keen on Lucy and yak, too baggy and wide for me.
