I put on a box colour of ‘and blonde ‘ but it’s very ash and not blonde
I don’t want to be grey I want to be blonde , so please don’t say it’s lovely ... lol
Could I put another colour on top ? Or anything else that may work ?

I like it! Not sure what you could add to it but it looks lovely

It looks much greyer in real life than on the photo 😐

Something like L'Oreal Casting in Sweet Honey could soften it and make it look like more of a natural/golden blonde. I used this before when I got highlights that turned out way too light and it gave them a much nicer tone. I would do a strand test first just to be on the safe side.

I'd recommend Superdrug Colour Effects toner in Honey Blonde. It's a temporary toner that you use like a conditioner so also leaves hair really soft and shiny. That will warm up your blonde and neutralise the ash tones.

Blue tones in permanent dye will fade quite quickly. I'd avoid damaging your hair with more permanent dyes containing bleach so soon after bleaching it.

I haven’t bleached it
It was a box colour , that I was trying as change from baby blonde :(
Will get a casting honey blonde
I hope it does not go strawberry tho ... which is lovely but not right on me as I have cool colouring
Thanks for your replies

Most people don't realise but all box colours with a "developer" contain bleach; look for hydrogen peroxide (bleach) on the ingredients list.

That said, if it's in good condition you can probably go again with the Castings one. Try a semi permanent one though to limit damage. You don't need to lighten your hair, you just need to tone it with a warmer shade.

Yep Castings is semi permanent anyway so should be fine. Hope it turns out ok (I'm sure it will)

What did you use, I love it, can it be used on highlighted hair.

@lindyloo57
I have light blonde hair normally but
Used L’Oréal preference ash blonde , this time and some of it ( which U can’t see here ) is really dark grey

I think the ashy tone will fade really quickly even if you don’t do anything. Maybe a warmer toner would help though if you don’t like it.
(Sorry I know you said not to but I think it looks great and this is the colour I strive to get!)

I have the honey blonde recommended by pp’s
I will do it tomorrow after work in case it ends up orange ( yes I’m a scary cat )

Sounds good. I would recommend doing the strand test first just to be on the safe side.

L’Oréal preference fades out of my hair after a couple of washes - it isn’t very strong for permanent dye - might be worth trying that before colouring again.

@SmileyClare@Sakura7

Update , well I am still grey ish
Buts it’s much softer ( thanks to head and shoulders I think )
I have both the Superdrug wash in wash out , and also the honey blonde as recommended which I will do when I get a minute
Will post again

Yes I think ashy tones do fade quite quickly. Good luck with your 2nd attempt!

I really rate the superdrug colour effects for a bit of tone and shine and they're cheap too so you can bung it on quite regularly if need be. Smile
