Ideas for evening do outfit?

Hi folks, i am relying on you lovely lot to give me inspiration.

I have been in invited to an evening wedding reception by a young man i used to mentor many years ago. We have kept in touch and i am really flattered he asked me.
It is gping to be in a really nice music venue - think old style music hall, very ornate and lush. There will be a couple of bands playing that night.

I dont know anyone else going so i cant check how glam / casual it will be. I am struggling with ideas. I could go very casual and everyone else be in cocktail style wear or vice versa.

I lost nearly 7 stone last year and mentally still adjusting as i feel huge alot of the time. I am a size 10 and my boobs have went from 38EE to a 32b so not so keen on anything low cut or strapless. Also my upper arms arent great so sleeveless is pretty much out.
I really dont like patterened or flouncy clothes and after hiding under layers for years, starting to feel a bit better about more figure hugging / structured stuff.

My budget is around £100.
Any ideas?

I bought a really nice cropped leg black jumpsuit from Oasis for a evening do recently. Had loads of compliments on it and it's something I'll definitely wear again. How about something like that?

Oh stoplicking - that is really nice but i have never worn catsuits before. I think i look dumpy in them.

How would i accessorise it?

I'm 5 foot 4.5 and a size 12 and it was really flattering. Not dumpy looking at all. I wore nude pointed heels that had a bit of a goldish effect over them, a rose gold cuff bracelet and small rose gold half hooped earings, no necklace and a back cluch bag. I've got my hair in a blonde balayage bob so styled it in beachy waves. I did a smokey eye (no fake eyelashes) nude/neutral lipstick for my makeup. Kept it all fairly simply really, but felt I looked stylish and was pleased with the overall effect.

These are the shoes I wore. Had them a few years now though.

I think both the oasis and the ASOS jumpsuits look really smart. Perfect for an evening do. I’d be more wary of the Reiss one, it looks like it would cling to any lumps and bumps.

i agree on the reiss one but I love the grey! I think I will order a few to try and see.

now - off to find shoes. I am not so keen on rally high heels - more used to wedges / platforms so trying to find something elegant....

I bought the Reiss one in the grey following this thread and am really impressed. It's a thick fabric which hangs really well. I'm a size 12 but think it is flattering so it's a keeper for me!

I particularly liked the neckline as it hides your upper arms which aren't one of my best features!!
My husband liked it too and he's probably more discerning . Grin

I'm thinking black suede heels with fur pom poms, black pony skin clutch and a black fake fur wrap plus a silver cuff. However I'm open to suggestions.....

Opportunistically placemarking as I like most of these jumpsuits Grin

Missfritton, i think the black will look really striking with the pale grey. Very glam too.

I am thinking v long thin chain earrings (down to shoulders), a couple of chunky bangles - one dark green costume emeralds, dark metallic grey heels, dark grey metallic bag and probably my emerald geen velvet bikers jacket?

I lave shoulder length red hair so might do a stoplickingthetelly style?

Also open to suggestions!

Love the idea of the long chain earrings! Sounds gorgeous. I'm tempted now too! (Although heavily pregnant so it might have to wait....!)

I'm an over 50 short haired blonde but the textured black accessories certainly add to the look. I'm a very staid diamond stud girl!

I like your mix of textures too missfritton.

Right, now to think of underwear....
