Additional ear piercing - what? Where?

I had regular ear lobe piercing aged 12. I’m 41 now, and have been toying with more. I like the idea of something else in my ear in which I could wear a little diamond or gold stud or ring, something very shiny.

Any suggestions of where in my ear might look good? And one ear or both?

I have a rather respectable job, I’m not very cool, I don’t have or want tattoos and I am quite boring. This appeals as a tiny little rebellion against everything I am, without being very radical at all 😂

Can't advise sorry but watching with interest as in a very similar position! Have been tempted for years but never quite got round to it nor make up my mind!

I have my tragus pierced and love it, it took the best part of a year to heal properly though!

Daith piercing is great. Takes a while to settle down.

Also watching. I have three lobe piercings in both ears but would like another

DD had a rook piercing at the weekend. Apparently it will take months and months to heal.

I vote tragus too although an arseache to heal (I think due to hair washing etc..)

Another vote for a tragic piercing - though mine also took a year to heal!
Wasn’t very painful to have done at all though, perhaps because it’s not a very ‘nervy’ area?
I’m a medic and have never had anyone say anything about it.

I've got a few (daith, conch, helix and anti tragus) and I like the conch and anti tragus the best! The helix is nice but took forever to heal as it's more exposed. Maybe try a fake ring or something to see how it looks on different places?

Oh also I work in an office and sometimes am client facing and the only comments I get are when I have my earphones in and the person next to me says 'How does it fit in there with all that metal' Confused

I have a tragus piercing too and still love it after years.
A couple of weeks ago I got two forward helix piercings (in the other ear). It is pretty painful and will take ages to heal, but I absolutely love it! :)

Tragus I have one and love it

I have two at the very top of one ear, 3lobe and 1tragus, actually found tragus healed fastest and was least painful. I had it pierced with a hoop and have short hair though. Had a diamond stud in for 10years now and love it.

I like the picture you posted.
I've got 3 holes in one lobe, 2 in the other, and one in the helix. However, in the lobe with 3 holes, one is slightly lower, and it makes my earlobe look huge. Having seen the picture I think I could fit another in above it to make it more interesting, but I tend to only wear small hoops which could be a problem.

I like the look of tragus piercings!

If you already have the lobes done, then perhaps look at helix or tragus to 'set it off' nicely.

Three lobes here too and on the look out for another ear piercing. Also can’t make up my mind so watching with interest.

I really like the look of the helix, plus it’s easiest to hide with my hair if I ever feel the need to professionally.

But I also like the idea of extra in my lobes. And I really like the one in that photo that’s halfway up, just where the cartilage starts. But I wouldn’t have all of them done! Hmm.

MARklah - I was wondering about having it uneven. I’d probably just get a helix in one ear (my right, mainly as I sleep on my left hand side!) but if I had extra in my lobes I sort of imagined they should match. But I like the idea of your 3 and 2

I’ve got a helix and forward helix too. Didn’t take too long to heal and not to painful.

Mine are really uneven - all of them are in one ear and none in the other!

I'm 50 something and felt the same as you. Was very cautious and had an extra lobe piercing in one ear just above the original. Idiot- I should have had the other side done at the same time so I went back 6 months later and had the other ear done. So I have two piercings each side and contemplating what next . Im a teacher so have to be a bit careful. And I am the most conservative person going!!!

How about just one right on top of the ear cartilage. If you wear a tiny diamond like earring there, I'm sure it would look lovely.

My DD has a helix and a tragus (as well as lobe piercings though she's taken most of them out)

The helix is the one which gets caught most. She has a titanium hoop but sometimes gets a little granulation bump (which settles down she sprays it with salt water)
The tragus (same ear) was done 4 months ago, not ready to change yet but she's already eyeing up new studs.

Go for it though. I'm very Envy of DD lugholes and fully intend (at 51) to have a MidLife Crisis and have it done.

Go to a Tattoo/Piercer who will use a sterile needle. DD is the most massive needle-hater but says it doesn't hurt, you feel pressure only.

And she was adviced titanium as it's least reactive./allergenic.

I have five lobe piercings in one ear, and three lobes plus a helix in the other. I’ve had them for twenty-odd years, but years ago stopped wearing most of them, other than the original lobes and the helix.

I’ve just started playing around with them again, though (was surprised to find they still worked!). My favourite look at the moment is a pearl stud in the helix and another in the top lobe piercing in the other ear (just below where the cartilage starts), plus whatever I fancy in the ‘main’ holes.
