How do you know what "colours" you are?

I have dark brown hair
Light tanned skin
I can't work out if it's yellow or pink undertones, someone told me to check the colours of the veins on my wrist and said blue = cool and green = warm but mine are mixed. I think I have a neutral skin tone.

Does anyone know what season that would be?

Based on my very limited knowledge, maybe winter or autumn?
Try something pure white and something cream against your face, and see which one makes you look better. Also silver and gold.

Have a look at //www.style-yourself-confident.com The website is really interesting. I paid to have my colours 'done' through Pamela but you can still get loads of info just from her website.

I think it's unclear for a lot of people. I have pale skin, dark hair with red toned and green eyes, so I should be an autumn, and a lot of the autumn colours really suit me. But my eyes are a very cool green, and some of the winter colours suit me too (but the icy ones do not). The more yellow autumn colours don't suit me either. I think you can use it as a guide but remember that there will be colours in your seasonal palette that don't suit you and some in other palettes that will.

If you hold gold and silver up to your face, what one feels/looks 'right'. You could be neutral, in which case, wear anything you like!

@hairq try googling clear warm or clear spring and looking at the images. They might be more your colours.

Holding a white and then cream
Top against your face should give you a good idea if you're warm
Or cool toned. White for cool and cream for warm. If there's no discernible difference then you're likely to be a neutral skin tone. The vein thing is a complete red herring imo.

I would never have worked it out for myself, I just don't have a eye for tones & colours. I went to House of Colour where they drape you with all different shades and tones and we all agreed which were most flattering. And they are, I get most compliments about looking well etc when I am wearing 'correct' shades.

I am always completely bamboozled by thos colour analysis websites. I always come out something different on each one. On the one linked to able I am a light but the colours that suit me are associated with winter which does not include light.

Totally confused.
