Hi all. Wondering if anyone can help me find a soft toned red lipstick. I find bold colours dont always compliment my skin so looking for a muted but still pretty red. Also throwing a spanner in the works (!) Im on a budget so preferably under £15 but more like 10 if possible! Thank you!

How about a lip stain like Benefit Benetint? There a quite a few dupes about.

The Hema lip balms are good - only about £4 and are like a crayon. They aren't a true lip balm, the red matte one I have is more like a lipstick but creamy.

MAC Hot Tahiti is a plummy sort of red which is very flattering.

Thank you all for your quick responses! Ill have a snoop when i head into town this week. Are lip stains quite moisturising as i find a lot of lipsticks dry my lips

Revlon gave a couple of red lip crayons that aren't in your face

Revlon Candy Apple is quite a sheer red and looks great on nearly everyone.

Yeah the Revlon lip crayons are fab. Selection of shades and choice of gloss/matte etc.

Often on 3 for 2.

Look at the Kiko range. The cheapest are about £4. Overall there is a good range of colours and they are Italian, so probably better than a random £4 in Superdrug.

There's a Nivea tinted lip balm , cherry I think, which gives the most gorgeous soft red look. And cheap as chips!

Mac Hot Tahiti is beautiful, but pretty drying tbh. I still wear it though.

Lancome rouge absolu no. 6 is a lovely colour. A very pinky red but worth a look.
