How to get rid of Extended Lip Look

I have sore, red skin above and below my lips, giving a very attractive Extended Lip Look. There seems to be a thing known as 'Liplicker's Dermatitis' which, given I know I do this ( and have Lip salves in every pocket/bag/desk and shelf) is probably it.

Anyone got any ideas how to get rid of it? Concealer goes cakey and I'd like to cure rather than conceal. Currently resorting to good ol' Sudocrem at night, looking like a reverse clown, but as I look like a proper clown by day, I'd be grateful for anyone else's 'cures'.

Any sort of deficiency?

My son gets this and zeroderm from the gp seems to sort it out if applied every day. Works like magic. I like Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream.

Nivea care and repair lip balm in the green tube. Gets rid of sore & red over night

Honestly, I'd be tempted to try Metanium. I've seen what magic it performs on nappy rash.

The sensible answer would be to see a GP but if you do feel like experimenting on yourself and try the Metanium, please let me know what happens because I'm curious. Blush

My sister gets this when she's been drinking. Clears about a week after she's been out.

Thanks for all the ideas.
Deficiency? Who knows?
GPs. I'd feel really silly going for 'Clown Lips' and you need to book a fortnight ahead.
I'll look for the Nivea and buy Metanium.

Oh, and I don't drink alcohol, but probably don't drink enough water, so H2O deficient.

My son had this and I took him to the chemist. He was given something under minor ailments that cleared it up in a couple of days. 2 min till I go find it

We used that at first (aveeno) but it started to sting my son's lips; the zeroderm worked better and didn't sting.

I had a bit of this a few months ago to the point where I could hardly talk as the sides of my mouth would crack! Turned out I was having a reaction to the (cheap) toothpaste I'd switched us to, and once we'd switched back it cleared up straight away.
