Zara sizing

Am a size 12/14 in most U.K. Shops and have heard that Zara sizing runs small - is this true and if you are my size, what size would you buy from there if you shop online?

I am a size 10 on top (sometimes an 8) and when I bought a coat in there a few years ago I had to buy a large.

Thanks emma perhaps I am sized out of Zara! It's that bloody coat that has popped up everywhere that I am in love with (along with everyone else!).

I would buy various sizes and return what doesn't fit - I'm a 10/12 and have XS, S, M and L from Zara, al of which fit perfectly.

I find Zara sizing ridiculously small. I don;t even bother with their trousers as I am pear shaped and would probably sized out too.

You could try putting your measurements in this to see what it says. i do usually find it fairly accurate.

A few years ago I asked a sales assistant in Zara to explain their sizing. She looked at me fur a few seconds and said indignatly "we don't make clothes for people your size". I am, and was, a 14. I hav not set foot in Zara again.

BikeRunSki That's horrendous! How rude! Shock Angry

I'm a 12, and M fits me well in Zara, that's for tops, I've never tried bottoms.

Zaragoza tops are OK. I'm a busty 10-12, and buy a S or M. Their trousers are dreadfully sized. I have a L pair but they are too small!

Zara sizes are tiny. I am tall & broad shouldered and nothing fits me in there, nothing at all. It's quite dispiriting really.

I'm a 32FF and usually a 14 in places like Topshop, and I wear a Zara med for tops, a medium or large for bottoms depending on the style.

I would order both medium and large of that coat to try on.

I love Zara clothes but I'm a 16, so I can very rarely get anything there. I bought a coat last winter in a XXXL!

Such a shame.

Lovely coat.

I'm a small 12 and recently bought a coat in S in Zara (and its still pretty loose). Trinny also featured a Zara coat recently on her blog and advised sizing down. I'd go for a M if I were you or take advantage of free returns and get multiple sizes

I'm a 14 and couldn't get a Zara XL tailored jacket on over my arms! Was mortified and haven't been back

So basically the gist here is that their sizing is a confusing nightmare! I think I will either have to boycott Zara after Bike had such a shitty experience or let my desire for that coat win and order a couple of different sizes as many of you have suggested. Thanks for your help wise folk of MN.

I find Zara sizing to be true to size, I wear 6 and their XS fits perfectly.

I'm a biggish 12 and just bought an L dress from Zara. It fits but is fairly tight! I'm just going to eat a bit less.

I'm a small 12 and the 12 bottoms fit me perfectly - M or L for tops/dresses depending on material and cut. I am 32GG though.

When I was a 12/14, it was always the L without fail.

Hi OP, I think generally it runs like this:

XS - 6
S - 8
M - 10/12
L - 12/14
XL - 14

It's worth trying things on though; as a PP mentioned I've tried on coats in size L that were so tight on my arms I could barely pull them off, and another coat in size M fitted perfectly!

MingeFog · 21/03/2017 22:34

PS) I tried on that coat first time around and the M was perfect - I'm a 12/14 usually (depending on store).

I'd agree with minge, my DD is an 8 and small fits very nicely. I'm usually a large as a 14, sometimes XL depending on the cut.

I'm a size 12, sometimes a 10. I haven't been back in since I tried on a couple of their sweaters in XL and they were too tight.

Me too! I've ordered a L and an XL...

I bought a trench coat in Zara today, I am a largish 14 and 5'10 (still wear some 16s). The L fitted lovely on my shoulders but wouldn't fasten at my middle. The XL does up easily over my large tummy.

That coat doesn't have to fasten so you will be fine.

I'm a 10-12. I've always bought medium in Zara. I have loads of things from there and find the medium to consistently fit me.
