Where can I get a good quality (not spit peas through!) long vest t shirt for under a tenner? By long I mean be bottom of bum length.

H&M do good long vests with thin adjustable straps. Lots of colours and although they are pretty cheap (can't remember how cheap exactly) they wash well in my experience.

Yes to H&M and I also got some in primark a couple of years ago that I think may be marketed to/worn by teens as dresses but are essentially lovely thick vests with wide straps that cover your bum!

I have some from Matalan which are surprisingly good quality

Just checked. Primark ones are indeed called 'stretch vest dress'. I've had mine right through up to 41 weeks pregnant, pulled up and down for a years' bfing and washed a thousand times and they have still kept their shape. I think they cost €3-4.

Thanks everyone, I didn't think about tshirt dresses, that's a great idea smile

Dunnes online. Come to top of thighs, wash brilliantly. I think they were about £3.99.

came on to recommend Dunnes Stores online - good quality too. Also H&M

Dunnes here too - have loads and they've served me well.

Weirdly, as a pp said, Matalan! I bought mine there while I was pregnant and they were nicely arse-coveting. Not see through at all, and better than my H&M ones. Was v surprised, as ordinarily I'd never recommend their stuff...

I have a couple of long vest tops from Sainsbury's, but I'm never quite sure what to wear with them- a shorter top over the vest: is that how it's done?

I have lots from different places but Dunnes are the nicest.

I get mine from H n M and Sainsburys. I wear them under shirts and massive cardigans.

The photos make them look shorter than they are, I'm 5ft 5 and they cover my bum.
