I've been wearing the stripe with a loose shirt, and whatever shoes I can walk in at the time (bad Achilles). Or a loose silk jumper. I'll look into the drape top. Sounds intriguing.

LOVE the silky jumper idea

Striped skirt here too.

Today I wore mine with a red tee and red flat ballet pumps. Last week with a loose fitting capped sleeve blouse in green and navy wedge espadrilles.

I'm finding it pretty versatile so far.

I think this might work, certainly with the black one which I also bought www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/171987-09?r=7562459859437631585
Will probably get the grey.

the line down the front does not suit a comely bosom

Just found this image online. I know it's not the exact skirt but I love how she's styled herself.

Good to know, I'll save the cash for another nice silk top when I can find one. Also liking 'official partner'.

I'm thinking of introducing the ruched dress into the wardrobe. I've got shit arms though, so would need an official partner for that.

I love the Boden ruched skirt, but can I ask what shape you need to be for it to look good? I'm a round size 10, I'd say petite but more short if I'm honest- I'm concerned id end up looking like a sausage in it too.

Thanks

Same here. Just ordered a brace of those Uniqlo tops, shame the lace one was disappointing. I'm wondering if it's worth sizing up on it, but it might just look a bit baggy.

What's the official partner?

Report
taybert · 08/06/2016 06:51

I'm a short 10. I don't believe I look like a sausage. My husband has commented more than once that he thinks it looks nice. He does like sausages though so that's probably inconclusive.

I found the stripe wasn't good over my stomach- the lines were too curved to look flattering- but the plain black looks good (though I don't really wear black in summer, will keep for Autumn)

I'm a shorty and found the stripes (I got the dress) did not flatter my bust and made my arse look even more saggy. So sadly it was returned but I'm loving the skirt. I think a smart silk /jersey top would look good but it'd have to be a shortish one , ie on the waist.Too long and draped might spoil the effect otherwise.

Skirt is great for sagginess and wobbliness. I wear it just below knee (so long length even though I'm short) as above the knee made my thighs look bigger.

Wearing with loose fitting Ts and plimsolls. Bare legs as long as temp is above 20 degrees.

I have the navy in long and it's just below my knees. It's going to get its maiden voyage tomorrow with a stripy cold-shoulder tee from Dotty P, silver t-bar flats from last year and a jersey jacket because it's still chilly in the mornings.
