Looking for some nice lingerie

Been through the mill to say the least recently. I would like to feel 'sexy' again.

I'm 34C size 10/12 and put on a bit of weight recently on my stomach so preferably something that flatters around that area

Everywhere I look is really tacky or just not appropriate. Seen some lovely lingerie in gossip girl - where do they buy that stuff?? Just soft colours and gently deductive, flattering without being totally about sex..

So far I've looked at boux avenue, John Lewis, next, debenhams

Open to all suggestions - was initially looking for babydoll but would be happy with anything really.

Have you looked at Mimi Holliday? Their stuff is gorgeous. Quite pricey but I've found it at discount in TK Maxx and on Amazon in the past. Their sales are also amazing

Mimi Holliday do some very pretty designs. You can get some on sale on the outnet and sometimes on the secret sales website. Coco la mere also stock them as do ASOS.

I really like Luva Huva
It is beautifully made, so pretty, very comfortable, ethically made, bamboo or organic cotton.

and the usual question, have you been fitted recently? Most size 10 people don't need 34 band. Check the bra intervention threads.

Do you have an independent lingerie shop nearby? We have one in our town that has beautiful underwear and their fitting is brilliant.

Was just about to recommend Mimi Holliday! Really gorgeous lingerie, beautiful fabric (use a lot of silk), very flattering and comfortable while still being quite "fun". I am a big fan.

Some of the l'Agent by Agent Provocateur stuff is nice as well, though the fabrics aren't as good. Ditto the Heidi Klum range. Oh, and Myla if you feel like blowing your budget entirely.

Also recommend getting re-fitted or just measuring yourself - I'm a 12/14 and only have to go to a 34 band in brands that are really small fitting (eg the aforementioned Myla), I actually measure 31 around and am normally fine in a 32.

If you've got some money to blow have a look at Aubade. And get measured properly before you buy, virtually everyone who thinks they are a 34c turns out to be a far bigger cup with a smaller back measurement. If you're going to buy, buy right!

Stella McCartney is nice. Online, BrandAlley and SecretSales often have her stuff (and others including l'Agent by Agent Provocateur, Heidi Klum and Myla) at great discounts. You have to be quick though, and you have to be lucky – sometimes they'll have your size and sometimes not.

Mimi Holliday come up tiny in the cup though, beware!

I'm not sure Mimi Holliday is so much tiny in the cup as very shallow, or at least that's been the case with the ones I have - I'm able to wear my usual size but nature has kindly placed most of my boobs in my armpits. If you're a bit more all out in front you might need to experiment with cup sizes.

Stella McCartney is also really pretty but definitely try a few cup/band sizes, I find they run quite small.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've been reading the bra fitting threads and I've only ever been measured by M&S!

M&S are generally terrible at measuring.

Chantelle has some nice stuff too - not cheap though!

They do nice bras camis and knickers at not too bad prices

Stocked at John Lewis and probably other department stores or specialist lingerie shops

There's a load of Stella McCartney on Cocosa at the moment, btw. Though it's all final sale, so you'd need to be sure of your size first.

I love Intimissimi, and their sales are really good, almost everything at 50% off. Lots of higher waisted pants to hold the tummy area and very pretty bra/camisole tops
