Every day shoes??

I am not a trainers girl. I am also not a heels girl.
I wear DMs. (Sigh. Yes another Mumsnetter who wear Dr Martens 😂😂)
But with warmer weather hopefully around the corner I'm not sure I want to wear them!!
But also because I am a leggings girl (yes, with long tops etc - no visible arse here) I feel wearing my usual summer choice of canvas shoes or hi tops looks a bit - teenagery.
What else can I wear? Must be able to walk a decent 4 miles in them every day.

Ok I could try sandals. But wouldn't they be a pain to walk in after a mile?

I have a pair of DM sandals which I purchased from eBay last year. Despite attempts to wear them in around the house, they still rub.

What about good old Birkenstocks? I like Gizehs, Floridas and Mayaris.

It's a bit Made In Chelsea but suede loafers are really comfortable and wear in very quickly if the suede is good quality.

If your budget doesn't stretch to Gucci, M& S do similar soft leather styles.

Had to click on this title as I feel I need to 'graduate' to grown up shoes as I wear DMs every day - and then saw that you are the same! I wear Birkenstocks and Converse in the summer.

Maybe we should just stick with them and everyone else should catch up with us!!

I'm a DM wearer too op.
I've just discovered Fit Flops. They aren't all about sandals. I'm eyeing up many. Check out their website.

The moshulus are stupidly comfy, I walk miles in mine
Worth getting fitted in the shop as I vary in size in there

I've just bought myself some Skechers. I've bought one pair of trainers and one pair of backless strappy mules for work and can honestly say I'm very pleased with them so far. They are so comfy and great to walk in.

What kind of tops do you wear? I live in my DMs or converse/vans but I also dress a bit like a teenage boy (skinny jeans and t shirt/baggy jumper always). So I am trying to look a bit more grown up in general, but the shoes have me stumped. I just really really like trainers and DMs. I see proper shoes and think "urgh, they are really matronly and not cool", but I think I need to face facts that I am 31 not 17

Haha I totally feel you pauline
Er, I tend to wear dark tops that are nondescript really.

Hotter Shake - I have them in purple, tan, navy and black, super comfy for walking, look fine with trousers or dress, cool enough for summer but OK in the rain too!
