Phillips Lumea - what Happens next? drunk usage!

Hello!

I am a bit tipsy and so have just plucked up the courage to use my Lumea for the first time. That first flash was terrifying!

I've done my lower legs, arms and armpits. Armpits were terrifying!

So what happens next? Will nothing grow back now for a few weeks? Or will it come back and I just do it again in 2 weeks? Will the little dots under my skin fall out?

I am excited to be hair free potentially! What level do you all use yours on? Is this going to change my life

Oh!!! And can I moisturise now? I feel a bit dry because I shaved so I could use it!

I'm also interested to know what happens, as I did my second session today. Lower legs, underarms and bikini - I did level 3 on bikini and level 4 on the rest.
I did notice a reduction in regrowth after the first go.

My bikini line is like a wilderness forest. I decided shaving there so I could zap was a job for another day! I did 4 everywhere - I started on 5 but got such a fright I downgraded. Deffo a 3 on bikini for me when j pluck up courage!

Do you think I would be okay to moisturise? I'm a bit tingly Confused

Also interested I did my third session today and I've noticed hair growth has reduced considerably I haven't had any ingrown hairs either which I usually get with waxing or epilating. I did moisturiser afterwards

Watching with interest - I irdered one yesterday and hoping it'll be delivered by Tuesday.

Sorry posted too early, moisturiser will reduce the tingly feeling, shave your bikini line first and then use a lower setting and moisturise afterwards, I'm normally embarrassingly hairy but it's worked really quickly

I have moisturised but I am a bit stingy now Shock

I want to do my face next, but I think my courage will have to be built up. I might be a 3 all over given how much I am now stinging. This had better change my life!

ohmaigawsh, following.
I keep almost buying one, and then chickening out because of the cost.

I'm dark haired (dark brown) and very pale skinned, very moley. Have a bikini line exetending to my knees.

I need one don't i?

You can use a cool pack wrapped in kitchen roll to reduce the sting. Just hold against your skin for a little while so it's cool.

Stealth - yes! Get one! You sound like me - I am like a pale gorilla. It's very attractive! I got the compact one so it was only £130 or something, I couldn't bring myself to get the £400 version.

Newyear - I am in a hotel so no ice packs sadly. I used a damp flannel and thank god my body has stopped tingling now. Thank you for the tip though - when I'm home I will have one ready for next time.

Those of you on your 2nd / 3rd rounds - do the little under skin hairs that make the dots stop appearing after a while? I am excited about the potential for hair freeness now the fear has gone!

twirly can I ask how long it took to use? I have similar colouring to you and very keen to use it on legs, bikini and underarms. I'm excited and very nervous

Right.

You're on.

Baldy knees, I can see them in my future...

I got the SC2006 a few months ago from Argos and it was less than £200.
The 'dot hairs' on my legs haven't yet gone.....

Crikey. I too had my first lumea in a slightly tipsy state at the weekend. I couldn't for the life of me get it to work on my legs - I still feel very stubbly -so I'm going to have to read the instructions and give it another go. I tried my underarm - the flash was warm! Will it work on hairy monkey arms do you think?
Am so hoping I can get it to work.

pink it was actually very quick once I got the hang of it. I put mine in slide and flash mode where you basically just hold it, wait for the flash then move it a bit. I have probably missed loads of bits mind, but I just wanted to get the first go out the way cos I was a wimp!

Stealth yay!!! Bald knees are within all our grasp! I actually missed my knees last night as I hadn't done a good job of drunk shaving them, and was worried about burning myself. Def make sure there's no hair there or you feel / smell it burn and it isn't pleasant!

Hmmm, that's disappointing about dotty hairs Jerm. on the whole are you impressed though? I really am a tad hairy and my armpits especially would have been prickly again this morning normally but they aren't! I am taking this as very early stages progress!

smile Drunk usage is the way forward! My armpits were warm too! I went down to a 3 for them out of pure fear. Did you turn yours down? I did my monkey arms and they aren't as prickly as usual this morning either. My legs seem okay but I think time will tell with them.

I might tackle my face tonight, but I am really apprehensive of the whole shaving thing. I have a proper beard thing going on which I pluck every single day though (I really am so attractive!) so it will make a massive difference to my life if it works! The whole flash / heat thing on my actual face though?? I will need to be drunk again!

Is it due tomorrow? Don't worry! You too shall be tipsy and in charge of a hair blasting lazer soon! I just got out the shower and it was so weird not shaving! I did one underarm out of habit and then forced myself to put the razor down..... I will report back on my prickliness later!

Have a lovely day everyone :)

So far I am impressed yeah, definite less regrowth after just one session. So having done my second session now I'm expecting even greater things!

I thought you didn't need to shave your face in order to use it?

How sore is it? I have a 12 year old who is muttering about wanting to shave her legs. My initial reaction was "hell no", but, then, I shave mine...

Report
twirlypoo · 04/04/2016 13:36

You would have to shave I would have thought, any hair there would burn and it would hurt!

Re your 12 year old, hmmm. I dunno. It doesn't hurt really unless you get a rogue hair. The stinging afterwards for me was like you know when you shave and don't use a cream so it's very dry and sensitive? It feels like that. I may have had it on too high a setting though. I was very hairy from about 9 and used to be bullied for it. I wish my mum had helped talk to me about shaving and stuff. It's crap you have to tackle it when they are so young but if she is approaching you about it I would take her lead.

In the interest of science (hic) I'm currently downing a bottle of prosecco before attempting another go. I used mine on no 4 (am very dark). Under arms feel a bit prickly still, but the shower didn't sting this morning..

Have had the crappiest year ever and am determined to make the most of what life has to offer now, including wearing leg revealing clothes in the summer despite my fatness. And hence drinking fizz at 4.30Blush

I've been doing it wrong all this time, I've been missing out on the important pre-lasering alcohol consumption.

I've noticed a real reduction in hair growth on my forearms and arm pits, less so on my legs where I keep missing bits.

Morning...just had a text to say my Lumea will be delivered today. So should I shower and shave now in readiness for giving it a go later?

Report
twirlypoo · 05/04/2016 07:46

if you shave now will you have stubble later or will you still be okay (I would be stubbly already Confused) if there is hair on the surface it will burn and traumatise you.

Def save stage 2 (the booze!) for later though. I am not sure people would understand you swigging from a hip flask all day!
