I want big batty eye lashes. Am naturally ginger blonde and so have very fair eyelashes so mascara is a must. Want v black swishy lashes that make me look "done" as have a 6 month old and haven't time to do anything but the basics . I think my eyes must be quite greasy (!) as lots of mascara X give me a case of the pandas after not very long, so perhaps waterproof? Any suggestions? Currently using benefit they're real but don't find it dramatic enough- don't mind suggestions on the pricier end of the scale.

For me, having tried so many of differing prices over the years, the absolute best on the market is the Max Factor Masterpiece Transform. It has a thin wand which I find is a must, and gives maximum length and thickness. It has never ended up on my face....

I have tried all manner of mascaras, expensive and cheap, but i keep coming back to Max Factor 2000 calorie. Really black, long lasting, non smudging and gives my invisible lashes that swishy thing you mentioned! It's the only mascara thats been a repeat buy for me. And it's only about a tenner!

I use a primer (Clinique, benefit, any really) and then layer on max factor false lash mascara (non waterproof) if they discontinued it my life would be over!! Grin

No7 Stay Perfect (gold tube). Its a tubing mascara so only comes off with warm water i.e. never ever smears or flakes. Its so bloody reliable. Not clumpy either. And you can use your boots vouchers on it!

If you don't fancy a tubing mascara then Max Factor False Lash. You really can't go wrong with MF for mascaras.

I always used Clinique mascara but thought it was pricey and a tube didn't last long so just bought max factor 2000 calorie and it's pretty good and doesn't crumble off like the Clinique used to

Roller Lash smudges on me like nothing else in the world. It takes 30 minutes.

I have quite oily lids so most mascaras smudge on me and eye shadows crease as well.

I have found that tubing mascaras really work for me.

I recently got the L'Oreal one for my mum who has the same issue with smudging and she's so pleased with it.

The ones I have tried and liked are:
L'Oreal Beauty Tubes (the one in a red and white double ended tube, the white primer is a bit pointless though, and the mascara can feel a bit rubbery on the lashes IMO)
Estee Lauder Double Wear lengthening mascara (I really like this, feels like normal mascara on the lashes but just lasts forever on). I haven't tried the other Double Wear mascaras but they are supposed to be tubing mascaras too.
Clinique Lash Power. I have just started using the feathering one and it is lovely. Looks absolutely amazing, lasts well and is easy to get off. I have the one with the smaller brush as well (also Lash Power) but haven't tried it yet - the feathering one has a large brush, so that's worth noting if you have a preference with regards to brushes.

There are more tubing mascaras on the market - No7 has one, Blinc makes them, Mac and Bobbi Brown as well - and loads of other brands as well.

I am in love with YSL's Baby Doll Mascara - it really makes my lashes look long and full and wide eyed.
My second fav is Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara

Coats your eyelashes with little tubes of black. It means that they only come off with warm water and when they come off will slide intact down your face like little black lines, giving you a heart attack that all your eyelashes are falling out. They're not, its just the tubes!

Its better than waterproof as they're oil-proof too. Will stay on no matter how much of a sweaty mare you are.

Crashing thread , apologies, I would like a mascara that doesn't run plus curls my rather straight stick out lashes. I have tried eyelash curlers but we don't get on !

lancome Hynose Drama is the nuts!

However, small caveat... It doesn't smudge or budge at all when the tube is new, but after about 6 weeks, it seems to 'go off' and starts getting a bit dry and flaky. So it is an expensive habit because you have to replace them quite frequently, but nothing else comes close.
If you know anyone who flies regularly, you can packs of 2 in Duty Free which works better value

I use any mascara, wait, apply another coat and then top off with some cheapo one I got on eBay which contains fibres and followed by a fixing mascara that comes with the fibre one.

It gives me a Sharon Tate 1960s wide eyed, huge lashes look.

Not for every day though!
