How do I get it? Luckily I have pretty great skin - I do very little to it and it looks ok most days. Currently I use garnier illuminating moisturiser in the daytime, nothing at night, and garnier make up remover or a baby wipe.
I'm getting married in a few weeks and it's occurred to me that if I put 3 weeks work into it then I might hope to see a more glowing youthful (I'm 42 so not expecting miracles) look- any suggestions for what I can use, try? And is eye cream necessary?

I'm a bit "meh" about eye cream. I have a couple of gel ones that plump out fine lines by really hydrating the area, which is great but temporary. Otherwise I just take my serum up to the eye (as long as it's not too oil heavy as this can lead to puffiness).

I don't want to recommend anything that will need to be ordered and take time getting to you if you only have three weeks!

If you want glow in a short space of time, I'd recommend cleansing with an oil or cream and removing with a nice hot flannel. Do you wear make up? If so, the oil is probably a better option. Una Brennan Vitamin C cleansing oil is lovely (Boots). For a cream one, Superdrug Natural Radiance or Vitamin E are good budget options to start off with.

Acid toning is something else you can try. Nip+Fab pads are easily available from Boots, either the Dragons Blood or glycolic ones.

You could add in a serum or a facial oil. Would you say your skin is normal? What's your budget?

Thank you! I've got some of the nip tuck pads today - and I picked a boots botanic serum and an oil and some night cream. Was flickering between the no 7 protect and perfect stuff, the loreal range and anything with a pretty box!

I've not tried the Boots Botanics serum, but the oil is lovely. Give yourself a nice massage with it after cleansing and toning and you'll be glowing in no time!

I had a pineapple for breakfast the other day I was reminiscing about the body shop pineapple enzyme stuff I used to buy in my youth and thought I would rub the left over skin over my face, I used the juice I squeezed from it mixed with some Aztec Secret Indian Healing Facial Clay I have off amazon and went for a bath while it dried, blimey, my skin looked really really clean and pores looked really really small, had a pick in my magnifying mirror and a couple of small blackheads I had just popped out at the slightest touch ... will certainly do this again soon.

So I'm a bit scared looking at the reviews... You mix the clay with vinegar? And it makes your face red like a tomato???!!

Is this clay stuff meant for skin that gets spotty? Mine doesn't - will it be too strong?

It has a temporary tightening effect, which reduces the appearance of fine lines.

I just did the mask with pineapple, it was the same as ac vinegar, perhaps it's the acid that makes it pulsate. I left in on for 25 minutes.

I tried to do my whole body once. That did not work.

it says on the tub its deep cleansing. You were brave Ava after it going red and sore doubt I would have tried it again so soon. mine did not pulsate will try again tomorrow.

Korean face masks are good or try a Hydrademie facial at your local beauty parlour, will make your skin glow! ( is about £50)

glamglow basically a face-pack but is marketed as a facial in a jar. I agree-it is great on my skin and the effects are long lasting

The Clearasil fruit toner wipes have made the most difference to my skin out of anything I've tried.

Honestly, if your skin's fine I would probably leave it! (Speaking from bitter experience...) The last thing you want is a raw, spotty face. The safest thing to do is drink LOADS of water, eat more fruit and veg and cut out alcohol and processed stuff where possible. You'll also get really sparkly eyes that way too!

Use the Clinique smart serum after cleansing and you will see an amazing difference after a week of using it night and day. It also works well after toning with a clearasil pad once or twice a week in the pm.

I was forced to stare at my unmade face yesterday at the hairdressers and my skin looked incredible. I have been using the serum for about a fortnight.

I have also been following the CH routine for the last few months which has change my skin forever, but it is great I have reached the point where a serum is making an actual difference.
