Right, so on Friday night I did a peel. 70% aha diluted with water 50/50. I left it on for 2 minutes then applied the baking powder solution for 1 minute. Then added more baking p. Solution, then washed it all off with water.
I woke up the next day and my skin is really spotty? Like, sore spots where I wouldn't ever usually have them ie the bridge of my nose!

Is this normal?

When should I do another peel?

Any advice gratefully received.

When should I do my next peel?

Um, never! If you want a peel then you should go to someone who is qualified to do them, or use an AHA product everyday. Please don't attempt to make your own - you don't know what damage you could do to your skin.

I didn't make it myself, I ordered it. It's called NOVOpeel. It was recommended on one of the skin threads.

Ok, I see now rereading it, how you might think I had made it myself!
You have to dilute the peel with filtered water if the percentage is higher than 50 (I think). And the bi carb solution is an aftercare that stops the peel from working.

Haha yes, I did think you'd concocted it yourself! I have an elderly relative who did a DIY peel in the 1940s as she had acne. It involved making a face mask out of the equivalent of Fairy liquid and leaving it overnight. The next day her skin peeled off and since then she had amazing skin. Even now in her late eighties she has better skin than most women 20-30 years younger than her!

The top layer of her skin peeled off that is, not the entire thing!!

Did you start with 70? How long did you leave it on for?
I do 30% and work up in 6 weeks , once a week, to 6 minutes , then a 2 wk break then start again with 1 minute.
30% at 6 minutes is ouchy enough for me!

Well the bottle is 70%, but I dilute it half and half. So actually 35% I suppose?
I left it on for about 2 mins. Then put the bicarb on for a min, then more on for another min then washed it off.

I will do it again on Friday, but my skin is sooo bad I'm embarrassed to see anyone today.

I'm wondering whether it is actually to do with the hyraluronic serum I've started using. Non of the reviews say it causes spots though.
