Pregnancy bra intervention needed!

Please help me, wise bra women!

After I stopped bf my DD (now 3) I did my own bra intervention from reading these pages and went from 34DD (M&S) to a 30F. Found it difficult to begin with as the bands seemed so tight but got used to it (now am wondering if should've tried 30FF)

Am pregnant again and the bras I bought back then are getting old and tired and obv I am getting too big for them!

However, I don't really want to buy a load of new bras if my size will continue to change (am 12 weeks preg) and also will need new nursing bras once baby is born (all my old ones were in my old / wrong size).

Any advice?

Sorry no advice but blatant place marking as I'm hopeless and have lives in sleep bras through pregnancy and 9months of breastfeeding

OK, start with measuring in the usual intervention way to give you a base size. However, when you try bras on you are now looking for one where the band fits on the tightest hook rather than the loosest to give you room to expand more. Your band size will almost certainly increase further as bump expands and decided to live in your ribs (or was that just mine!)

Wires - the whole " you mustn't wear wires in pregnancy or when feeding" thing is balls. They are perfectly safe - so long as they fit. The wires must not be resting on breast tissue.

Thanks, statistically. But is my cup size likely to go up between now and the rest of preg? Or am I ok to buy bras now to last until I need nursing ones?

Also, is it right that the band felt really right when I initially switched or does that mean the cup size was too small?

It's not surprising - the cup might well have been one too small, but you also went down two band sizes so it could have just been new bra size shock! Err on the upward side with your cups - you will probably grow a bit more, so a bit too big is better than snug. The thing you really need to be careful of and keep an eye on is the wires at the side - check them regularly to make sure they stay outside of your breast tissue

I'm pregnant and also determined to keep my lovely intervened boobs happy and supported throughout!

I'd say they will keep growing, so don't spend too much now, just buy maybe two cheapish bras in the right size and you may have to buy two more at the 25 week mark or so. Then as late as possible get your feeding bras and biggest sizes. It's not just cup size that will go through the roof - my back size in last pregnancy went from 28 to 34, and it only ever went back to a 30.

I think having a well fitting bra is more important than having a really good brand that will last, in pregnancy - so little and often with the cash splashing to keep your boobs happy.
