I'm feeling so bleugh, and need some inspiration.. I seem to always wear the same kind of thing- I work in quite a physical job so it can never be very 'pretty' iyswim and it tends to be casual, but then I find myself wearing the same sorts of things at the weekend too.
Today, I'm wearing an oversized white top from boohoo, skinny jeans from top shop, white converse and a dark red blazer..

WisemansBridge Mon 16-Jun-14 14:25:40

Ah, I like what you're wearing. Same kind of things I wear. Today I'm wearing a mint floral summer dress from h&m because I'm baking! What about wearing some nice summer dresses on the weekend with sandals? When the weather cooler you could go for boho kind of dresses with tights?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar Mon 16-Jun-14 14:30:30

Today I'm wearing a black jersey calf-length dress (Asos, maternity, spaghetti straps) over a black vest because the dress is too low for work otherwise. Black New Look T-bar flats and a white cropped cardigan from Primark. I did have tights on but it's so hot in my office that I've just gone to the loo and taken them off. My job is office-based, but not a smart office, and I'm 34 weeks pregnant which is limiting my clothing choices a lot.

I love the sound of that dress Wiseman, I am not confident at all.. I don't wear sandals because of my arthritic feet (aged 24.. Sigh) I just feel they are too ugly!!
Also what kind of tops do you tend to wear if you're wearing jeans?

HappyLandSpaceMan Mon 16-Jun-14 14:32:29

That sounds lovely Cheddar !

AmberNectarine Mon 16-Jun-14 14:32:49

Today I am wearing a pale pink camo Zoe Karssen sweatshirt, ripped straight leg jeans with a deep turn up, white Birkenstock Arizonas and carrying a silver Alexander Wang Rockie bag. This is pretty much my go-to off duty look.

nilbyname Mon 16-Jun-14 14:38:26

I'm wearing denim shorts from gap, a neon green vest- new look with a lemony baggy l/sleeve - whistles, over the top. Chunky statement necklace and silvery sandals from Zara. I'm at home with my dd.

HappyLandSpaceMan Mon 16-Jun-14 14:53:25

Those two sound lovely but I just know I don't have the confidence for them or the body!

nilbyname Mon 16-Jun-14 15:09:40

What bits do you dislike? What's your best bit?

I've got great legs. I am shorts, skirts etc at the first chance I get.

My upper body....needs work!

Pinterest is great for outfit ideas

HappyLandSpaceMan Mon 16-Jun-14 15:14:58

I'm about 5 ' 8, size 10 bottoms 8 tops, big bum, hardly any boobs, horrible face! Big hips and dont like my feet.

OneLittleLady Mon 16-Jun-14 15:20:01

Bright cobalt blue skinnies, leopard print pumps and a 3/4 sleeve slightly cropped loonie tunes tee. My hair is plaited to one side with two small flower bobbles at the end. I appreciate my style is not for everyone though grin

revolutionarytoad Mon 16-Jun-14 15:23:00

Your outfit sounds really cute OP!
bet your face isn't horrible at all!! come on, I want to hear you say something nice about yourself now. please?

I'm wearing these stripy AA shorts] in blue and a dark blue top from Bershka men.

AA's corduory shorts are brilliant too, great quality and (IMO) they look fab.

revolutionarytoad Mon 16-Jun-14 15:26:51

Oh and my feet aren't nice to look at and I'm super happy with my sandals for this summer:

Maybe the flat sole isn't the best for arthritis though. But they're sooo comfortable and they let the air in but keep things hidden grin

Annianni Mon 16-Jun-14 15:26:59

I'm wearing ancient gap bootcut jeans, rolled up and boyfriend-ish.
A navy asos v neck tee and silver Superga (just been for a walk in the woods)

This morning I was wearing black Sam Edelman Gwyneth studded sandals instead.

Fcukfifa Mon 16-Jun-14 15:34:28

I'm wearing ripped topshop skinnies, a baggy grey v neck tshirt from topshop and bright blue 'worn in' converse, the comfiest converse ever!
Mostly staying in today apart from nursery run so nice and comfy

HappyLandSpaceMan Mon 16-Jun-14 15:34:44

Ooh revolutionary that outfit sounds lovely and the sandals are perfect! I have some of those jelly sandals but think they look a bit too cool for me.
I've got lots of scars on my legs so I am a bit uncomfortable having them out but have been using bio oil so hoping that will help them?
I just have no idea and I used to love getting dressed and choosing outfits, now I just dread it sad
I do quite like my hair, but only the front.. Sidey bit. I'm not actually as negative as I sound.. Promise!

goodasitgets Mon 16-Jun-14 15:47:57

Uniform today but things I've worn this week
Grey maxi skirt with split, black vest top and bolero shrug, sandals
Grey skinny jeans (Eden from DP), Harry potter t shirt grin and suede beige ankle boots (pale ones on this link)

Dorothy perkins heart print dress, black bolero, suck them in maidenform leggings grin and same ankle boots

goodasitgets Mon 16-Jun-14 15:49:08

Oh and don't worry at all about scars. My best friend had a huge car accident which left her in a coma. Skin grafts and repairs etc have left her with a lot of scars, at first she was really conscious but now she goes bare legged. If people asks she tells them a shark bit her wink

frankietwospots Mon 16-Jun-14 16:11:42

I'm working at home today so quite casual. I'm wearing this khaki tee from Top Shop:

with Dorothy Perkins slim boyfriend jeans and this DP necklace:

and Carvela leopard slip-on trainers:

and this bomber jacket when I go out:

revolutionarytoad Mon 16-Jun-14 16:52:23

thanks smile

Oh you don't sound negative, like not unusually so, we're all like that- I know it can be tempting to be down on yourself!

I love scars actually grin I have a noticeable one on my arm and I think it looks cool. Any scars are cool to me. But anyway, no one would give a flying anything if they saw some scarring on your legs!

You could set out a budget and then have a concentrated period of clothes shopping- online maybe, so you can do the trying on comfortably in your own home, and then be proactive about sending stuff back if you don't like it. Keep track of what you're buying so things look good together.

WisemansBridge Mon 16-Jun-14 21:00:56

HappyLand, I'm exactly the same as you - size 8 on top and 10 bottom. I feel I have a huge bum and thighs but my husband says I'm lovely and curvy smile I try to concentrate on my good parts - I love my little waist and small upper frame.

I have stretch marks on the backs of my legs and feel a bit conscious wearing shorter dresses (although I shouldn't really, loads of people have scars, stretchmarks, other imperfections. ..) so I usually wear longer skirts. What about a maxi dress for you? They do suit hourglass figures. there's a nice shoe I'm thinking of thatst closed and looks nice with dresses and is cool in the warm weather but I don't know what they're called, daps is coming to mind but I don't mean the lace up ones. I'll wander off and see if I can find a link to some.

As for tops with jeans I've got a load of vests and tees from Primark and I wear them with cardigans, hoodies or blazers.

WisemansBridge Mon 16-Jun-14 21:04:04

Like these happyland. But these are quite chunky, I've seen slimmer, more feminine looking ones that would look lovely with dresses and skirts.

WisemansBridge Mon 16-Jun-14 21:05:39

what about these

WisemansBridge Mon 16-Jun-14 21:08:21

I'm thinking this kind of dress

cheapskatemum Mon 16-Jun-14 21:09:01

onelittlelady, I'm wearing cobalt blue skinnies as well! I've rolled the bottoms to ankle length. Top half is flowered t shirt under a long, fitted chambray shirt from Crew. It wasn't hot in Suffolk today! Fit flops on feet as had to walk a lot.
