Gym top with holes in the sleeves for my thumbs

I bought this in 1066 ages ago on H and M online and it finally arrived. Its really nice long sleeved cover up for the gym but what is with the thumbholes?

We used to make our own thumbholes in our school jumpers.

I love thumb holes in my running tops. I get too hot with gloves and end up having to carry them on my run.

Yep, keeps you a bit warmer.
I use these for my work outs outside. Just push them up when I'm warm.

I have a load of outdoor tops like this from Berhgaus and The North Face.
Got them years ago. It's not a new thing.

I have a couple with thumb holes. I must have orangutan arms because they are never quite long enough and the sleeves pull whilst running. Annoying, I never use them (the holes).
