Help! sandals for destroyed granny feet?

It's getting very hot where i live... Anyone got any suggestions for comfortable, relatively nice-looking sandals that I could wear with shorts or a skirt?

My feet are a total mess with creaking huge bunions and osteoarthritis in all the joints, and I can't do toe-posts due to the level of wreckage of my big and second toes. So if possible i'd like to have hiking-sandal soles (for support) with something relatively sedate and leather over the top. A few years ago there were some quite presentable ones like that (made by Teva? or Columbia?) but there don't seem to be any nice ones around any more.

Everything either looks flatly uncomfortable or truly hideous at the moment.

Any suggestions welcome!

Try Clarks Originals - Kestrel soar are really comfy and quite cool in a kind of Birkenstock way.

Linnet flat by Clarks have a much thicker sole but also look v nice in retro way. Can't vouch for comfort though..

Try ecco, hotter, pavers and also have a browse on cloggs - some of the shoes are crazy on there but they do some well made good makes and you might find something good.

I have bunions too, and need very wide fit sandals with a gap at the sides for the bunion to poke through. Anything with a continuous strap over the part of my feet with the bunion on it is a complete no go.

Last year, I struck lucky and bought four identical pairs of sandals in different colours. They were the gladiator plait sandals in m and s wide fit footglove collection. They have a version for this summer too. Size up, as the strap near the ankle is fully adjustable. The sole is quite cushioned.

Definitely try Fitflops. Bouncy and comfortable and now with a wider range of styles. Prettier than hiking styles but very kind on your joints, and very supportive.

Definitely Fitflops - several nice styles, with good thick soles, to choose from this year.

Clarks often have very comfortable soles. Some are in a wider fit, which may be of use for your bunions. The Kestrel Soar, I found, were pretty narrow. I had to return mine.

Also Pavers are good - they have relatively stylish, but comfortable sandals in differing widths.

Classic Toms are comfortable and have reasonable arch support.
