Shamelessly joining this thread.
I rarely use make up.
I thought that bare minerals was mainstream?
But my DD has booked them for her wedding make up, and bridesmaids, and mine. So am bit surprised to see that they aren't mainstream?
Sorry I cant actually help you with the question Blush

I use bare minerals, I'm hopeless and really can't be arsed with foundation but even I can manage bare minerals.

I use Bare Minerals Matte and I love it. I have in the past used the original Bare Minerals but it doesn't really work for me. Too metallic looking and highlights pores and sits in the wrinkles. The matte is my HG foundation.

I use bare minerals too. It's great and gives a really natural finish. Much much cheaper on amazon too, once you know what colours to use.

Lily Lolo is very good, and a fantastic range of colours too.

Anchories-I'm confused, what do you mean by main stream?

OP, bare minerals is good, so is Lilly lolo but didn't last long on me.

Bare minerals concealer is a miracle in a pot imo, fantastic stuff.

I use Clarins and find it easy - not really good at make-up! Grin

Lily Lolo is great and you can buy little sample pots for (I think) a quid so you can make sure you get the right shade. A make-up fixer spray makes mineral powders last loads longer (I got mine from MUA).

I have tried bare minerals.
Laura mercier is 20 times better. Brilliant stuff.
Although don't be tempted by the minerals primer. It's shit.

Another vote for Lily Lolo esp as you can get sample pots to try out shades for 1.49

mineral veil
Warmth all over face colour
Full flawless face brush
Flawless application face brush
Maximum coverage concealer brush

On offer at £45 today in debenhams (I had a voucher to spend) but just looked on qvc app and looks like they have some good deals if you know your colour

I use Laura Mercier which I really like. I've tested Bare Minerals and found it a but more cakey but that might just have been because of the technique of the woman who served me.

I've used a few, quite like BM but prefer one without bismuth such as lily lolo.
I took a punt in some from eBay (pure magic minerals) which has no talc, bismuth etc and I'm really pleased. It's lovely and about £5/£6 a pot!

I didn't get on well with mineral foundation, and instead have gone for the Clarins compact foundation which I highly recommend. I have quite dry skin but it works well.

I'm a bare minerals convert. I love it. I've tried lots of the other brands Mac, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Benefit but once I got used to putting the bare minerals on it's the best, good coverage (on my skin) but natural finish.

Most of the colours on QVC have sold out now but you can get some on Advanced Order (some on Waitlist so if they come back in stock in 90 days they send them. )Money isn't taken until it's dispatched.
Go onto qvcuk.com and select the TSV (Todays Special Value)

I have Medium Beige which is a 'standard' shade but IMO it's a teeny bit dark for me. I would buy a lighter one and blend the two for this time of year, but Med Beige would be fine when I get some colour.

The secret with BM is to apply from the lid and blend blend blend (Have a look at their demo videos)
Tap- a tiny bit into the lid
Swirl- your brush to pick up the colour
Buff- sing Happy Birthday to You , in full, twice. That's how long you need to buff for.

TSV is a 7 piece set. There's a lipstick, primer, 3 tubs of powder, a wand (I think highlighter?) and the brush.

Another vote for Lily Lolo. I've never liked any other foundation as much.

I love bare minerals too. I love how i don't feel like I'm wearing make up. Great stuff. Off to get their concealer next if it's good!
