To kit me out for my new job. It's an office job - all male (except for me, when I start!). Smart casual.

I've been reading the thread about effortlessly stylish and chosen the following but want to be sure I've got it right before placing the order.

I'm blonde, early 30's, 5'4" and a size 12.

Ankle Boots

riding Boots

Skinny Jeans

Wet look leggings

Tights

Dress

Shirt

Jumper

Print Jumper

Navy Blazer

Black blazer

Scarf

Scarf

Bag

I've never worn skinny jeans or wet look leggings before Blush.

No to the wet look leggings and jeans

Oh OK - What instead? Thought they would be better than normal leggings?

Smart black or grey trousers

Oh really - even though it's smart/casual? The blokes wear jeans...

Get these instead of the riding boots! They are fab.

Are you getting the taupe Moonlit boots? They will look better with the dark skinny jeans. I wouldn't get the wet look leggings if I were you. I have pleather ones from Next which I love, and I suspect the ones you have chosen are thinner, much like some Oasis ones I have just binned.

Nothing wrong with dark denim for work. I often wear mine with a blazer and they look smart.

Jeans are fine if it's smart/casual. Our office is officially no jeans but for the last couple of years most of the women have been wearing dark black skinnies or coloured jeans just fine.

Getting the black ankle boots… those boots are lovely but sold out in my size unfortunately.

Absolutely no to wet look leggings and to normal leggings and to footless tights imvho.

I like the Clarks boots. The riding boots are not leather and therefore likely to be poor quality. I got some Clarks leather knee highs for £40 in the tail end of the sale a few days ago. Worth a look.

I would get, as a starting point:
black cigarette trousers
black tube skirt
printed or striped tube skirt
black jacket and/or grey jacket
grey jumper
plain jersey dress, maybe grey
3 tops - 2 plain and one printed
2 scarves - one plain (either grey or a bright colour) and one print (maybe snake or leopard)
just the ankle boots and then some coloured or leopard print ballet shoes

The boots that Frankie has just linked to, are the ones I just bought, I think! :)

Personally I wouldn't wear dark skinnies with black ankle boots. Just saying.

I would wear the brown boots with the jeans, white top, navy blazer.

I just looked at the wet leggings and 100+ pairs have been sold in the last hour!

Just get plain leggings. Wet look leggings only for young IMO or trendies or only look good on sea lions - seriously! Grin

Oh, am I not young then? Sad Grin

The jumpers are nice, prefer plain one. The dress is pretty but will date quickly so only buy if you're prepared for that.

Of course you're young but I just wouldn't....

A friend of mine in late 30s got some (wet look) she's trendy and whippet thin and even she went off hers fast.

Not seen rest the blazers are nice, shirt nice but if you want Oasis I'd go for their cream basic long sleeved tshirt rather than shirt.

As then they can go under jumpers. The shirt I'd say yes but long backs can look strange unless you try it on with jumpers.

Re blazers - again worth looking in the sales for better quality at similar prices. Try the Hobbs outlet.

Bag is expensive for what it is. Try TK Maxx or wait til next Zara sale. I got a lovely black suede tote bag with gold an blue chain strap in their sale and love it. Approx £35/£40 half price from original I think.
