Yay - 30DD bras from Next

Having been 'bra intervened' from 32B/C to 30DD I've been trying to find bras that fit and flatter in that size. It's been quite hard as the cheaper brands usually start at 32 and the more expensive or DD+ brands just don't seem to flatter smaller boobs - they flattern or make 'pointy'! Also, I want some smooth t-shirt bras not lacy adorned stuff that shows through my clothes.

Anyway, was in Next the other day and spotted a couple of bras in a 30 band size, usually 32 is the smallest I've seen in store or online. Ordered several 30DD's and found the £10 spotted bras fit perfectly (& importantly flatter not flattern!). So, have been able to but a couple at that price and donate my 32B bras to the charity shop.

Unfortunately the 30DD t-shirt bras were too small and there's no 30E option. I've ordered the same styles in 32D & 32DD so will have to see if they're any good.

If you like T-shirt bras that don't flatten then a few good options are the Freya Deco and the Wonderbra d-g everyday t shirt bra. Both available in your size and definitely not point or flattening

The Wonderbra t-shirt bra was my everyday bra when I was wearing a 32C but I can see now that the cups are too small. I tried the D-G version and it's totally different. It gaped at the top and was very unattractive to look at - on me it looked like something my granny would've worn! I think it was the wide straps, fuller coverage cups and wide side band - seemed over engineered for 30DD as boobs are not actually very big in that size are they. We are so conditioned to thinking DD is big nobody believes I'm a DD!

It is a problem - in a larger band size a DD does need more industrial support but a 28DD or 30DD doesn't to the same extent. Catch 22 though cos the brands which might be preferable style wise half the time stop at a D!

There's also cleo - they aren't quite as sturdy, a bit younger in design and have a couple of T shirt type designs (Maddie, Jude and Neve)

I have some 32F bras from Next. I love them. My favourites.

The only high street place (non specialist) that stocks nice bras in more appropriate sizes.

Hope they continue to extend the range.

That's it exactly Statistically.

That's why it was so great to find a 'standard' bra from Next in 30DD - shame only one style though. Must leave a review to encourage them to provide more.

I suppose as many 28/30 DD/E ladies are wearing 32/34 B/C bras then the bra retailers don't realise there's an untapped market for more 'delicate' styles in those sizes.

Trust me to be difficult - being tall I already have trouble finding clothes to fit now it's bras too!

Topshop do some lovely, reasonably priced bras that go up to a DD and i'm pretty sure they start from a 30

They do go up to DD but smallest size online is 32 so I expect that's the same in store :-(

Wonder if they come up small in the band though? Might be worth a punt as I actually measure 31.

The Panache 'Porcelain' is a lovely smooth tshirt bra that comes in 30DD.

Oooh this is an interesting thread. I'm little and petite, but got measured last year at Debenhams as my 32C's weren't feeling right. I'm a 32D or 30DD depending on the brand/shop.

So pleased to read Next are doing some, will have a look! And never even thought of Topshop either. I have a couple bras from Marks and Spencers and Debenhams, the Debs ones so uncomfy though. Also what helps me sometimes if they a little tight, those little bra extender thingys are great just til they stretch a little bit to be comfy :)

Hi there. Sorry to hijack, but I need a bra intervention, please.

I measured 33.5 under my boobs and 47.5 around the bust. I didn't pull the tape around the boobs.

I currently wear a 32gg, as I've found 34 back sizes too big.

I think gg is wrong so any ideas what size I should be going for?

My current bra is a fantasise one and they seem to be the only brand that I find comfortable to wear, although saying that, my current one feels so uncomfortable. I seem to live in one bra as they are so so expensive, and I always find new bras very uncomfortable.

Murat when you scoop do you have major quad boob, by my reckoning you need a jj or k in a 32

I can vouch for Next bras too- I've got some 32g bras from there and they're really good.

I've got a couple of padded ones from there and a couple of non-padded lacy ones. I think that they were two for £20 or thereabouts, so very reasonably priced too.

Yes wasn't sure whether they started from 30 or 32 but as you say the 32 is possibly worth a try as 'high fashion' high street stores do tend to favour women with small chests anyway? Agree that next is great though, got a brilliant new strapless bra in there today for £18, my pocket is very happy too!!

I've got some lovely bras from next, I measure a 31 on the bank but have been wearing a 32 and they feel comfortable
I also have the problem of finding bras that flatter and don't flattern or give me Madonna-esque pointy boobs

I feel feint.

I was that size when I was breast feeding. I am overweight by about 3 stones and am also the weight I was when I was two geek overdue with my first. But I am not pregnant or breast feeding.

Do you recommend any brands that make parachute canopies bras in that size. Certain brands have just never fitted me.

Ooh forgot to ask, I've always worn underwire bras. Are they ok?

On the quad boob issue, I get a little bit, but I do have back fat issues. One boob is bigger/fuller than the other.

Okay quad plus back fat would suggest that you do need a few extra cups so it's in the right range I'd guess. What sort of shape are your boobs? Generally bravissimo own brand and panache are best at that size range as they have very solid wires

And yes yes yes to wires. Just make sure that the wire doesn't sit on breastfeeding tissue.

Been thinking about shape of boobs. Not sure. They are quite full and a bit on the droopy side, but my nips point forward , is that the sort of thing you mean?

OK...Are they:

Close or narrow set (so how big is the gap between them)
Wide or narrow root (the width of each boob - are they very much on your front, or do you have quite a lot of tissue round under your arms
Top or bottom heavy - sometimes easier to spot leaning over - is more of the volume on the top or bottom of them

I'm a 30e and love the panache porcelain bras. They are my favourite.

Debenhams gorgeous range are good, nice value and for when I want pretty bras.

narrow set
Wide - i have quite a lot of tissue round under your arms
bottom heavy.
