Shins like a dried up river bed

Hello wonderful S&Bers. Can anyone recommend something to help super dry shins? I exfoliate every day, and epilate hair growth but no moisturiser I've tried seems to work and my shins are dry and look flaky. I've seen the This Works oil but that's a bit too ££ for me. Just wondered if anyone had any other products they could recommend?

Body Shop hemp hand cream.

Clarins hand and nail treatment. It's super rich and you can see the difference as soon as it's applied. I tried it because my legs were super dry - one application and I'm back to regular body lotion.

Ooo hand cream. Really? I've got some Clarins upstairs so can try that. I kind of assumed it needed to be a 'special' product
I've been exfoliating using the Body Shop gloves as they are £££ cheaper than buying an exfoliating product. Will take a look at the hemp cream - does it smell?

Exfoliating every day might be a bit too much & not helping matters. 1-3 times a week should be enough.

I use Eucerin 10% urea cream when my skin has a bout of severe dryness and Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Deep Moisture body lotion as my everyday body moisturiser, which keeps on top of things.

On top of that, in order to get summer-ready, I'm exfoliating once a week with brown sugar and olive oil.

2nd Eucerin urea Shop - it's a miracle worker for lizard / crocodile skin.
Exfoliating is is tricky for dry/ sensitive skin, as is frequent showering. Check your shower gels too - they may make your skin even drier.

The brown sugar - olive oil routine sounds lush, try coffee grounds in the summer if you can do it in the garden

I have Flexitol heel balm - is that the same thing Remus.
Good point re: exfoliating too much MrsBert - tis possible I got carried away! Off to Google Eucerin. Funnily enough Frugal I downgraded my shower gel recently as part of DH redundancy money saving effort, perhaps I need to check that too.....

Eucerin is the only thing that works for me, I get it free on prescription. Epaderm is also good before they get too dehydrated but smells pretty ming.

Yes auld I did try stealing some of DS Epaderm but it isn't really touching it tbh.

La Roche Posay Iso-Urea Lait Lissant. Originally developed for psoriasis. Lovely, lovely stuff. Available at larger Boots, or Boots online.

I saw some Aveeno Moisturising Creamy Oil in the pharmacy the other day and tried a bit. It felt really moisturising, but my favourite is The Bodyshop's Africa Shea Butter and Sesame Oil Body Balm. It has a lovely texture and sinks into the skin without feeling greasy.

Another vote for Aveeno. Really good and long lasting, absorbs quickly. I started using it after a recommendation from a dermatologist, hadn't heard of it before that!
