Eye treatment/cream for sunken sockets and dark circles

Does anyone have any suggestions for some kind of miracle eye cream to treat the undereye area?

I am almost 51 and the rest of my facial skin is not too bad but under my eyes the skin is dark and sunken in a half circle (sounds lovely doesn't it!). Eyelid and brow area are OK though.

I've been looking online at various different brands and most of their products seem to be all about reducting puffiness but I think I want to increase puffiness to plump out that area.

I have pale skin and some freckles so I tend to use a lightweight BB cream daily so the freckles are just toned down but not completely covered.

Am I looking for the impossible product that will actually improve the area?

I am due a birthday present in a week or two so cost is not the primary consideration if it actually works (not more than £40 though).

I'm using Elemis ProCollagen Eye Serum (from QVC- it's about £35 + p&p for 15ml)
I've used since mid December (my skin is pretty well behaved -I'm 46) so not a huge dramatic difference but it's made my eye socket area less lined.
(I went onto Elemis. My Philosophy had run out and I thought "Go for it")

You can get Elemis in loads of the big stores/online.

Im on phone so can't link but have a look at beauty mouth blog..... She reccommended an eye cream that she is using herself and I think it was one of her star products of 2012 iirc.....

Same problem here! Hoping for a miracle - "The Scream" comes to mind when looking at my under eyes...

hi, i have the same problem and I read on here a few weeks ago about a cream from boots which was about 25-30 pounds. I cant remember the name does anyone else it was something like eyeslix?

If it's dark circles then Clinique have one which is supposed to work- one of their "Dark Circle" types- roller ball.

If it's sunken etc then nothing except fillers will help that. Waste of time and money thinking you can fill the area with a cream.

Same age, exact same problem. The comments about 'The Scream' I can totally identify with. I've looked at pics from when I was in my mid 20's and can see that this is just the way my bone structure is, it just wasn't as noticeable then.
I haven't found anything that really works for dark circles, except a good concealer. And I think the only thing to help with the sockets would be fillers, as mentioned above.
I'm watching this thread with interest and hope!

Thanks ladies. I'm going to look into some of your suggestions. If it's just my bone structure then there's no hope!

One (USA) website I read said to do a strange facial exercise.

Look straight ahead
Look up (eyes only - don't move head)
Then
Try and close your eyelids whilst still looking up.

I can feel something tensing when I do that in my eye area but I doubt it's doing anything much! Perhaps I will ask DH what it looks like when I do this as I can't see myself in a mirror when I am doing it!

Probably concealer is the (only) way to go. I think I've tried that Clinique roller ball thing and it wasn't much help. Maybe I just need the right shade?

I know, I'll say that I don't have dark circles, it's simple the reflection of my (highlighted) shiny fringe on my skin.

Clinique 'All about eyes' cream and YSL Touche Eclat. Works for me :)

Laura mercier concealer works wonders, use it in the corner of your eye socket too.

I'm 51 Pip and have just had tear trough filler to get rid of my dark circles (I have tried a clean diet, various concealers, drinking more water, eye creams, etc.) It's absolutely the best thing I've done. I look in the mirror in the morning and look quite fresh faces without the dark bags. There is still some slight shadow near my nose, but easily sorted with estee lauder flawless finish concealer. Should last 12m.

If it's loss of fat and muscle causing what they call 'tear troughs' no cream will sort those- you need dermal fillers. if it's dark shadows, Bobbi Brown corrector topped with concealer is good. Nothing you put ON your skin will correct either.
