Azure Breeze at the moment similar (ish!) to d&g light blue

i've had 2 of them and whilst the scent was fine it only lasted 5 mins. so if you look at cost per spray they were actually more expensive than my chanel i reckon. one as a tall red bottle and the other a rectangular one. but i wouldn't buy again.

I've just brought Sensuale as it smells like Channel Allure which is my favourite.
Agree it doesn't last long but it was only £12 for 250mls.

I absolutely adore La Maison de Senteurs "Fleur d'Oranger." I stock up on it every time I go back to UK. It lasts quite well, too.

MrsSchadenfruede - I have/love that too. Just about small enough to fit in a bag, too, so you can re-spray. I find my clothes smell of it later, when I come upon them in the laundry, so I'm not sure it does disappear completely.

I also have a "New York" body spray which is good. I rather like the "Vintage Love" - but it's just a little outside my personal comfort zone, which tends towards quite simple florals, tbh. (Apart from Mitsouko, which I love.)

The body lotion in "Fleurs d'Orange" is nice. I'm trying really hard to remember what the range in the black packaging is called. There is a citrussy body cream in that which I like, too.

I have to admit that I also like the "old lady" range they do - the rose and the iris. I am muchly fond of those, and buy the talcs, soaps, and bath stuff!

I went in there before Christmas and tried a couple first thing in the morning to see how they lasted. I am a big fan of D&G's Light Blue but wasn't impressed with Azure Breeze. The one I eventually got was New York. The first smell is a big off-putting (in fact, DSis who was buying it as my Christmas present called me to double-check as she thought it was vile) but it was the one that had the nicest long-lasting smell. The first few minutes are a bit 'teenage' but then it mellows into something really nice and I don't leave the house three minutes after I put perfume on so that bit doesn't matter to me :)

You know. I've been wondering ...

Lots of posts on mn mention sillage (the radius of the scent) and lasting-power as factors when looking for a perfume.

Am I the only person who doesn't always want a perfume with the sillage of a nuclear strike and a lasting-power of 24 hours?

Yes, when I am looking for an evening perfume, I sometimes want something a little aggressive, that perhaps is going to fight for its own space in a crowded area and go the distance, time-wise.

But surely there is a place for the intimate and gentle? Perfumes for when you are pottering close to home, and can top them up? To be enjoyed by just you, or you and your nearest and dearest? Or even that you are going to wear for a bit and then, because you are a creature of moods, be altered, or replaced, by another scent, at another point in the day?

Am I the only person who rather dislikes the intrusion of "nuclear-option" perfumes into the day-time - with the corresponding feeling of irritation when, say, you get on a tube and feel like gagging because someone has doused themselves in something really strong that you, actually, don't like, but are forced to inhale because it is, actually, strong to the point of being impolite, rude, and a bit selfish?

Or am I just a complete weirdo?

animula - i don't like very strong perfumes as they give me a headache. But i do want to spray a perfume on and still smell it 30 mins later. just seems a bit pointless otherwise. apart from this their perfumes are fab

I like the Autograph pink one, tis lovely. The purse-sized sprays are only a fiver and are nice to carry around to freshen up.
