and they are all going back. not keeping a one.

im a bit fed up. actually im a lot fed up. i look good in nothing....

i even ordered 3 pairs of really lovely shoes that dont fit...all my other shoes from there are a 4....couldnt squish my feet into a single pair of these suckers...

i hate shopping. i absolutely sodding hate it. when i find an outfit that looks decent its always by accident and never by design...i think i am now destined to wear my pyjamas (when im not at work) forever...

Next clothing is vile.

It's definitely Next and not you.

Occasionally I find work trousers to fit, but not very often. All of their stuff is v long imo (petite is too long for me and it isn't in any other shop).

Again imo a lot of the trousers are very large on the waist but meanly cut around the bottom/groin area. In contrast many of the tops are cut on the large side. (sometimes a six is too large for me yet I am an 8/10 everywhere else)

I agree, used to like the stuff. Havent bought some thing from there in years. Shame

Learn to sew and you can tuck things here, change things there, add bits to this bit, take that vile edge off that bit...

Totally agree with waist/ hips and groin comment above!! I ordered a 10 and they were FAR too baggy around the waist. I am thin but not THAT thin! On the other hand I have a teeny bottom (people have said it's boyish and flat :( ) and yet it was tight around my bum. They are going back tomorrow. I can't save these with my sewing kills. Far too wrong!

I'm not sure anyone looks good in NEXT there stuff is never quite right. Either the cut or materail, there is always something that
makes it look crap

onepieceofcremeegg · 28/07/2011 22:43

meltedchocolate whilst I cannot say my bottom is boyish and flat (!) like yours, it is certainly not a size 14 which is what I would need to fit in Next Jeans. :) They even give me that horrible effect known as , "camel toe"

Does anyone on here find Next trousers taht fit?

TanyaBranning · 28/07/2011 22:46

Next jeans were a revelation. I am 6 feet tall and their ~Tall range were about 4 inches too long. Weird. They were also very tight around tummy and gave me camel toe, yet weirdly baggy around arse and thighs. Awful.

Totally agree with everyone else - its them not you. The only thing I can buy from there is shoes need wide 8's and kids clothes. They were my staple to buy from 15 years ago.

Tall range are just weird shape. I am 5'11 and am ok with extra long trousers but tall range NO NO NO

I'm about to cancel my catalogue after 2 years of not ordering anything from it. The new catalogue that came last week is horrendous.

Their sizing is defo off. I remember about 10 years ago, pre-kids, I bought a size 10 pair of jeans in Next which I had to be beat, hammered and scrunched into (they looked ok on though, worth the pain!) every time I wore em. Now? A lot of their 10s are loose on me and I am definitely a 12 in most other shops. So they've got their sizing arseways for sure. Or has sizing generally gone bigger? And the jeans are cheap but the quality is truly kack. Better off buying a good quality pair 3 or 4 times more expensive cos they'll last longer for sure.

I was browsing in a flagship Next today on Oxford Street, looking especially at the (tiny) maternity section. It was shockingly, shockingly bad. Really shit quality, and just the kind of designs that you never see anyone in RL wearing. I know maternity stuff is generally a dogs dinner, but this was really really shoddy. Went nextdoor to Dorothy Perkins and DP looked posh in comparison!

I used to work in Next- at the time it was a faintly aspirational brand. Not any more!

I hate all the unfinished edges on their casual tops, really makes something look cheap and nasty.

Well I will take some comfort in that then....it all looked so awful! Cheeky sods have also already put it on my bill! All off back tomorrow. Think I'm going to cancel the catalogue too, the last thing I got for dd lasted only weeks before several holes appeared in it. I suppose trying stuff at home appealed...

I find next jean sizes huge.

Plus the regular is way too short, the tall is way too long. [I'm 5'7]

All Next stuff is crap, I don't know who buys it any more.

And their outlet stores are even worse - alongside all the crap sales stuff unsold from all corners of the land, they have a special range of even more crap and ghaslty clothes specially made for the outlet stores.

I hate the place. And why do people queue up at the crack of dawn for their sales? I will never understand them.

I can remember when Next clothes were viewed as rather stylish, nowadays you get better stuff from Tesco and Asda at half the price.

Whenever I have ordered any item of clothing online, it has never fitted well. I always need to try clothes on first and I suspect the vast majority of people do too.

Are there really people who buy tons of clothes online and they nearly all fit snugly and make them look great? And do people buy shoes online?

I don't think it's anything to do with next.

Report
lawnimp · 29/07/2011 09:49

i tend to buy lots online and keep the majority of it

op you could try la redoute, their stuff is really good at the moment and not too pricey, find it easy to send back etc

I was in Next yesterday and tried on half the shop. Nothing fitted, it was all weird shapes and the quality was so poor that even if I had found something I would have struggled to spend my hard earned money on it. And that's the new season stuff. What happened? I used to live in that shop. It's such a shame. From now on I am only going to shop in the children's section

It just looks cheap and nasty these days, it never used to be. I have a great fine wool suit from there about 10 years ago and it's fab. Went in there yesterday and it's all so plasticky

Definitely Next, not you. Cheap and nasty looking, I agree.
